A new hospital will be like a band-aid. The root causes of our diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, cancers, etc must be eliminated. Instead of putting monies into a new hospital those monies should be funneled into effective programs which will ensure that our foods and drinks are nutritious and are free of illness inducing poisons such as artificial flavors, artificial colors, preservatives, herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, desiccants, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), plastic packaging that leech carcinogens into foods (these line tin cans too), fluoride in drinks and toothpaste, soy, canola, imported foods having high mold content (labelled for export only), poisonous (carcinogenic) hair and beauty products, and the worst insidious most addictive offender SUGAR (gets converted directly into fat and suppresses the immune system for hours)...etc... These poisons are slow acting and over time ruin our heath producing the so called dreaded comorbidities and the poisonous sugars and oils cause unmanageable obesity, so a proactive approach is required not a band-aid.

The stock market is a ponzi scheme contrived and controlled from the top. Privatization is just another trick to take wealth from the people and put it into private hands, so that the private ones benefit instead of the Bahamian public. Just look at what happened to Batelco. The modus-operandi is to promise greater efficiency and huge savings, but instead run the infrastructure into the ground while greatly reducing local staff and bringing in foreign staff. The paychecks for the foreigners leave the local economy and Bahamians with the skills required to run technical operations become extinct. Bills increase and services are reduced.

The problem with BPL is inept executives, who are being appointed and controlled by the arrogant/ignorant men off of the street (elected politicians).

This is one of many events in which a simple fault has caused a protection system cascade resulting in unnecessary outages.

There is an Electrical Engineer position called a Power System Protection Engineer, and the old BEC refused to adequately educate anyone to achieve that status. The college requirement to achieve that status is very in-depth and rigorous, which means very few Bahamian Electrical Engineers qualify. The top management at BPL appears more inept than that of the old BEC. Yet these are the inepts who are planning to enslave us by borrowing and squandering more than half a billion dollars.

All institutions given to us by our colonizer are corrupt and rigged to keep them in charge and us impoverished and subjugated. There are no exceptions including all religions, political ideologies, market theories, etc...
