By Flippin the bird, Christie stock just went up with the thugs and the jungalist. The irony of this is, Christie can stoop up, pull down his pants, spank his backside and shout, kiss it, kiss it and he will still beat Dr. Minnis in the upcoming general election.
Economist,In this instance, trampling on Bruno Rufa's rights worked for all parties concerned. The case can be dismissed against Rufa if Immigration don't allow him entry for his next court date. The condo association did not have to pay for Rufa's trip to the Bahamas. Immigration got their way by keeping Rufa out of the country. The Out spoken QC got paid. Win Win situation for all.
Coral Beach Condo Association had its Annual general meeting on February 25th and record numbers of owners voted out Bruno Rufa and his reckless board. The association was left in a mess on the verge of bankruptcy. Almost two million dollars of the association's money was used for Rufa's legal fight with Bahamas immigration, without the approval of the owners. QC Fred Smith claimed that he withheld one million dollars in unbilled legal fees because he didn't want to bankrupt the association, this is scandalous. Now that Bruno Rufa's finger is out of the cookie jar, he can pay his own legal fees or get the out spoken QC to represent him pro bono.
"The attorney for Bruno Rufa on Thursday made a request for his criminal trial to be dismissed in the Magistrate’s Court" ??? Bruno Rufa's Attorney should have known that Rufa's criminal matter could not proceed unless he withdraws the constitutional application from the Supreme Court, which is set to be heard on June 14 and 15. Team Rufa tried to swing Immigration now trying to swing the Magistrate Court.
This is alternative news. The Coral Beach Condominiums in Freeport is not closed. It was never closed. There are more than a hundred winter residents at Coral Beach right now. "Repairs at the 200-unit complex are on hold until Condominium Association President Bruno Rufa receives permission from the Immigration Department to come and deal with the repairs" , what a joke.. Bruno Rufa was forced to resign as president. The owners don't want Bruno Rufa's hand in the Association's Bank account, His Board have the Association in a mess and on the brink of Bankruptcy. After the AGM tomorrow, Bruno and his cronies along with the Out Spoken QC will be history. Immigration did not get swing, but nice try.
If Immigration did in-fact refused to allow Bruno Rufa entry into the country to attend his criminal matter, all Fred Smith has to do is ask the judge to dismiss the case against his client, on the grounds that he is being refused entry into the country. The onus will be on Immigration to convince the judge as to why the case should not be dismissed.
The problem is, Bruno Rufa is suing any and everybody so he could continue coming to the Bahamas. He has ten court matters pending and still threatening to sue more people. He will be here forever, through the courts, if Immigration don't stop him. At a recent meeting held at Coral Beach, Fred Smith told the owners that they have a moral and legal obligation to pay Bruno Rufa's legal fees. Many owners are rebelling and refused to pay.The Outspoken QC threatened to sue the owners if they don't pay. Bruno Rufa was forced to resign as President of the Association for skullduggery.
Mr. Smith, first you condemned the bill, then you asked Bahamians to kill the bill, now you want the Govt to take time to Consult On the Bill? very confusing,
