Seems unequal ------- one (1) girl victim having to hide in a bathroom from bullying ----- versus ----- " her daughter was threatened by a group of boys, forcing her to hide in the bathroom during lunch breaks."Ms Johnson also claimed her daughter was taken to hospital after suffering “extreme and inhumane punishment” from the school’s administration, who reportedly made her stand outside in high temperatures during lunch for two days.
"Her daughter suffered dehydration and breathing difficulties—symptoms of respiratory spasm—and was admitted to hospital for treatment.
"Shortly after Ms Johnson informed the school of her daughter’s hospitalisation, she received a letter on March 20 notifying her of her daughter’s expulsion."
Simply shut the school down until this bullying criminal behavior stops and school officials guilty of not taking corrective action, perpetrators, and their parents are punished on leaving the mental scars on the victim and all others who are aware of this horrific situation.
Fully agree with the former Speaker of the House of Assembly.
More of these articles that erodes our sovereign Bahamaland democracy should be on the front pages of the free press.
Another recent article of the awarding of the highest honours of the KC, King's Council should also be investigated as to the criteria for the honours to be awarded.
Somehow it would appear that in light of the seemingly highest numbers of these highly prestigious KC honours that our Bahamaland bestows on highly intelligent minds, does not seem to correspond to the Courts issuing punishments and for rehabilitation of criminals to be pooping into buckets at national Jail Fox Hill Prison and crowded like sardines into prison cells.
Impossible to be giving out and awarding Honours in the legal profession allegedly influenced by political forces and on the resultant side of criminal convictions Bahamians are still continuously confined to highly critical known torturous prison conditions controlled by the political forces elected to govern.
Hurrah! And kudos to these superlative advances that is taking place in Bahamian medical care.
Also what is needed is the health insurance coverages long overdue to be provided by the govt. for the Medical staff employed, instead of ill staff having to take large sums out of their small paycheck or borrow money to seek medical care from professionals.
It is a huge advancing step in medical staff to be doing such high standards of medical advances in treating their patients. Kudos to the Medical staff. !!!!!!

The onus should not be entirely on the government on running the businesses for them but on the Business Operators on running their own business properly and greater discipline !!!!

If dey can be giving VAT reductions on men battery and electric shavers to deal with their beards and facial hair and head hair, then they should be reducing the VAT prices on products that women have to use on a regular basis to fix their hair and treatments which is very very costly but essential.
These regressive VAT costs a lot of poor peoples money so for a change poor people should have the financial ease of fixing their hair and using less shower caps to be going out.
Don't dese rich employed men go into poor people neighborhoods or even be aware of the money costs their wives have to spend on fixing their hair and know its is very costly for poor women and girls to afford it?
"As at December 31, 2024, the bank maintained custody of 45,780 dormant accounts totalling $128m denominated in five currencies. "
On dis small 7 x 21 mile island the authorities cannot find the 45,780 bank account holders, ----- despite first having the owner producing all the huge amounts of info needed by law ----- to open up a bank account ----- that can take months for the opening of a bank account can be then approved ----- repeated again ----- to be opened by the laws enacted by the same authorities and now can't find the owners ?????
Frankly this massive amounts does not seem to be a glitch in well organized and designed laws, but seems to be investigated for criminal actions as it appears to have been destined and intended to capture customers money. 45,780 bank accounts untraceable owners today?????
Some research needs to be done on this area as it appears that many Bahamian ancestors from centuries earlier being in the horrible slavery plantations and the Vendue House down the street selling our ancestors as slaves and being on the plantations where in the 1700's were a llarger population than their slave masters who would have to have a burial site which were used for poor which were our ancestors. The "Potters field" comes from the bible which seems to have been allocated to the nearby Cay in reference to the area for poor ancestors passing away on plantations and buried our ancestors on the outer areas where the descendants of slave owners buried close to the church. .Potters Cay which would have only been a sliver of small land and the area in picture seems to be on the area of burial grounds of our ancestors horribly taken by slavers. The area seems the grounds where our poor ancestors were buried and across the road are concrete fancy graves of the wealthier people.
On a story by my friend who said that the commercial businesses in the area were not being successful being on the area where hundreds even thousands poor people, our ancestors were buried. Some failed businesses included Pan AM, numbers of food places, even the political party who placed the continually smelly plant, even the Bridge cant be making any money!
