Something just ain't fair... when the legislators losing hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars ...like tens of millions in BahamasAir, buying the old Grocery store on Gladstone road, millions of dollars overruns on waste treatment plant, going past the new Baseball Stadium going on some $50 million, some $18 millions PMH computer challenges, graded down mountain in Palmetto etcetcetc.....and on the other hand have the ability .....to just recently have the Nurses to plea for their overtime pay in front of Legislatorrs offices. And now to have the ability in this the highest unemployment, poverty levels, for over a year now people lining up for food, and now the legislators ADDED ability to increase price of your drinkable water supply and cause it to get it shutoff along with many others already shut offwho cannot pay., Depriving people from water to live is downright reprehensible !!!!

No Corporation on this planet should have the powers in this Pandemic to make water life sustanance more unaffordable or to deprive people from potable water and ability to shut off connections to ppeople, children, babies, elderly, medically confined in homes etc. living in homes. What next, must people wheel people on medical beds, unemployed, those on wheelchairs, children, poor people to front of legislators offices on Rawson to protest ?????

Good letter. The Bahamas comprising of islands most prone to the effects of climate changes have already signed onto United Nations documents, signed onto the Paris Climate documents, have made presentation before the nations of the world in the United Nations and have been in many situations to lower its carbon footprint. There was even a visit by CBS Sixty Minutes to Ragged island documenting the nation's leadership efforts of the people of the nation to the world, efforts of going green, reducing carbon footprint, true efforts of honesty and integrity. There was even the United Nations Head visiting the Bahamas to see the disastrous affect of Climate Change and the world appraised of the importance by all on reducing carbon footprint.

Looking at the International documents nations do, as many democratic nations, is to stick to the international reputation of following what they have signed onto. To many nations honesty and integrity is important.

The nation's continuance of Tourism, being the primary engine over decades and decades, should have the personnel to have done all likely possibilities of producing in advance various options to soften the blow of the hammer. Surprisingly, there seems to have no foresight for disasters and plans of to ease the distress of the one blow.

In this time now upon these workers, the taxi drivers who hhave income from transporting guests, beach vendors, workers who deal with the travel industry , the loss of revenue from Electricity bill to BEC, fewer travellers not flying BahamasAir to and from the now closed hotel, the children of these hotel workers, merchants, farmers and suppliers to the hotel and the hundreds of other Bahamians who benefited, may the Good Lord help them all in these added challenges they face to find a good solution to ease their pain.

Tool to use to correct.

"If there are areas of waste, of inappropriate spending, even of corruption, then absolutely it should be exposed."

Any tool is only as good as the workman!!!! May God help us all.

After major disaster events affecting revenues of businesses there is almost certainly Assessment Reports or various Reports by other names produced by these companies.

Hutchinson and the Port Authority, multi billion dollar entities would have reports done going back years on their Freeport Airport which would have made this to some official in the past govt and current govt. These major concerns in some File with technical data etcetc probably sitting on someone's desk and seems suppressed. These critical imputs from reports seems to have suppressed on numbers of occasions but resurfaces like when former Minister of Health Duane Sands who exposed failings of some 6.6 Million dollar Health Clinic on Cat Island, Palmetto some 27 Million dollar Hospital, failings of 18 Million dollar PMH computer system.

Over the years there just seems to be any Engineering Assessment Reports on any type on the Freeport Airport, except efforts by current govt to buy it.

On Law needs to alter for GB airport deal

Yes indeed. You have been there too. Alternating political parties have accused other for Curruption to win elections to govern better, but there is little or no political will to correct egregious wrongs.

No person in this country should not be discriminated against on not having access to this life saving vaccine using the age of 65 years and older. Everyone ought to know that choosing the persons age of 65 years and older can have same or better criteria chosen for in the younger group.

Seems a bizzare plan for some to decide on not giving many in an age group an iota chance or mabye up to 8% cure of having a vaccine to save their lives instead of waiting until next advisory. Its the right thing in this democracy to treat all equally and have the vaccine available to everyone.

You need to have someone take off your halters and bit out of your mouth so you can see the bigger picture of our sisters protesting over monies due to them by their employer.

@ tribanon. Mr. Roberts usually gives the donations, like to the Feeding Network and with photo recently with the PM Minnis holding the oversized cheque. One of the cheapest things in the stores the public benefits from tends to be always big supply of bananas at usually 79 cents a pound. All govts need to be pleased with Mr. Roberts because govts reap in enormous tax revenues from Stamp Duties items coming into country and the VAT he makes selling for govt.

An obvious item that needs to be charged on is the suggary drinks which is part of contributing to the nations numbers of illnesses, but for some reason these drinks seem not to be discouraged by increasing its costs by govt. Drinks continue and increaseng Hospital costs to taxpayers continue and lot of patients take their money outside country for health care continue.
