Extremely distressing story with all the shortages of nurses.
Dis shortages seems to have gone on over years ago and with former senior govt official Dr. Duane Sands revealing of these nurses shortages years ago, brought over from previous govt.
The solution as in commonsense business is to start firing the administrative and responsible salaried govt jobs not done for proper staffing, for the nation most important hospital.... in their year after year after year after year after year.....shortage of nurses in the Hospital.......YA can't expect any difference results time after if ya using the same ingredients......getting the same results of shortages....and somehow expecting different result year after year...AND well mudda tek sic now nurses leaving in groups....!!!!!!!
Something has obviously gone wrong. What next but horrors in peoples mind gon happen when they really have to go to the nation's primary Hospital..???? What a most diabotical situation when in the hugely mismanaged govt staffing and salary renumerations ...is that the critical necessary govt Department of the Nurses have been leaving for years, and droves now leaving. And versus the other govt Departments and Agencies keeps getting decades now being bloated. What shambles, upsidedown, what horror.
@tribanon. The public service shop got this way with the political parties from their political election campaigns with political candidates in seems talks with their supporters to be rewarded with govt employment by the winning political party in govt.
No one as a workrr or political campaigner should be employed for govt vacancies based of greater political affiliations than ability to fill genuine authentic govt dept vacancies, based on qualifications and abilities to best fill the job.
Campaigners with inducements, encouragements or rewards of govt salaried jobs during or related to elections campaigning for votes, should NOT be rewarded with these seems govt artifical jobs by sacrifices/expenses of citizens by govt, then govt thereafter not having enough hospital beds, employment of seems continuous shortages of nurses etcetc, or, of growing of the private sector.
..."childed Bahamian governments for not looking beyond politics...they should look at long term planning..." 25 years ???
Well, dat's a big ting when there have not been able to have govts in more than 5 year political party plan for power 5 term alternating . And when previously failed one takes office dey hav to untangle traps, white elephants, an unfeasible hospitals on top of hill to first grade down hill, bogging them down...Contracts rentals wid no exit to cancel unless exhorbitant money costs,, ...they wastefully close, sidetrack, and/or discontinue excellent programs wid impetus from previous govt,..... try to restart programs now run down an dormant previously when in power.... continued new mismanagement imputting their own political appointed layer of cronies in senior decision making an so ridiculus dat one set of cronies even know the previous set of cronies like two sides of same coin, ...limited lack of investigations buying mansions leaving dem to rot at expense to refurbish, ....forceful money injections into govt agencies without accountability and noone guilty,... and hot air blown when in Opposition side etcetc. and expectant Opposition salvitating dribbling and expecting another govt term.
Good views Mr. Bowe on your long term national plan and keep on wid more views.
...er,....did all govt personnel and families , friends etc., responsible for decision making past, present or future ...have to disclose that dere cooks, maids, gardeners, handyman and childrens an relivates, other persons corrently or have known to reside in these illegal poor human living conditions shantytowns ???....
All dese goings on happening with clear documented persons Haitian nationals on Work Permits, or not on Work Permits or other, being affected in the clear illegal mass constructions and demolitions --- needed to have FIRST follow the protocols of the Haitians Ambassador or Haitian Govr Representatives, their complaints ...addressed to the responsible Bahamian Govt Officials...even though all law abiding Bahamians done know the illegal shantytowns done illegal.
Bahamian Govt would then be then have opportunity to engage in the matters. NOW that these complainers have brought in officials in the UN to issue statements on behalf of these Haition Work Permit holders, or one Haitian affected, and/or Haitions of varying status and connected relations as group affected...must have the Haitian Ambassador be summonsed to give explanation to the Bahamas Govt and hopefully diffuse this long time going on tensions before it gets worse.
Does anyone recall the Haitian Ambassador or representatives even getting involved and discussions on matter wid the Bahamas, their democratically legal Bahamian govt., the senior Bahamian Ministers, Bahamian public.... before the matter got to the UN ?
Dese culprits deserve to be caught. The first company truck culprit should have known to have not so rounded up number whichin is odd payment doing large (trucking) business dese Covid days r aising suspicions and the second culprit should have known better than to be requesting cash and walking out with out with 80 bundles minimum if luckly to have it all in $100. dollar bills without suspicions. Kudos for the tellers responsible at Bank of the Bahamas for good work and potentials for promotion.
Goodness grief. That's a lot of different free tee-shirts - different sizes, some folded up some unpacked, pom poms, flags, concerts, chicken wings, macaroni a cheesei ferl paper, catchy slogans, plentiful promises, erryone somehow knew ya family, erryone is a servant of the people when elected, posters on top of posters on erry lamp post, walls etcetc. Oh brother.
A more obvious critical issue in this nation vigorously battling the COVID -19 Pandemic crisis is the Protocols and Vaccines in these illegal shantytowns.
Bahamas govt has to regain control of these huge areas of shantytown land with close knit populations whether they are Haitians, Bahamians, wid or widdout Papers. These areas which Bahamas govt never seem to have legally controlled, Police cars cant even go into the narrow paths, ambulances cont go into the area, no firetruck. Govt seems to lost ability to obtain Govt Taxes for Business Licence business shops etc. No Health controls, no controls pigs, animals for human consumption, Govt no honey truck to empty cesspits etc Census unlikely to include amounts of criminals escaped periodically from Haiti prison escapes and thr list of govt failures to regulate these land masses for decades. Bahamas govt needs to have testicular fortitude to regain control of these large areas which they have lost control of Bahamas govt laws and regulations for decaeds. Full bettering of Bahamas nation must be regulated control of all populated geographic areas of the Bahamas.
Covid -19 needs govt to regain control all shantytowns populated areas while massive Bahamas govt efforts are in place for the rest of the nation.
The conversation with the UN officials and the Bahamas should begin with a memorial service in the public Graveyard where there was the mass burial of the 55 unindentified persons died in the Hurricane and with great dignity buried by the Bahamas govt. The UN officials should be seated in the front seats and the service include recounts of Govt and brave persons with assistance of cadaver trained dogs recovering bodies in various of decomposition, trapped from under the acres of shantytown timbered rubble flattened like a pancake.
Added to retelling at the Memorial Service in cemetary by local Pastors of hurricane destroyed shanty town occupants survivors, dere must also be in telling of the sad demise of 55 unindentified persons, must also include the some 36 persons and more unknown numbers of human souls who seems to have just swept away into sea and bodies still remain missing. May the souls who have passed away in the Hurricane shantytown destruction rest in peace.
