Entry level average jet skis having speeds of 40 - 50 mph and other models having speeds in excess of 70 mph should be banned from densely crowded or any nearby areas where people are likely to be frequenting.
It is quite obvious if it is not controllable by the authorities then in the first instance these machines should not be allowed.
On the matter of the alleged rape of our visitor and guest to our beloved Bahamaland, it is extremely sad and horrifying and the fullest extent of the laws apply if the accused is found by Court of Law to be found guilty.
Voters need to know ----- which of the elected voting citizens elected their MP's who followed the law with its clear deadline ----- and which of the elected MP's did not disclose by the deadline.
Totally unfair to deny the voting citizens and citizens in a sovereign nation touted as democracy to have one peson withheld this vital information from the citizens.
This allowed hindrance obviously is a disaster to democracy and those MP's who broke the law should not be vested by onto the citizens to continue to be representing the constituency.
Seems for the rest of Bahamaland history there will always be continuous talk of this huge money and Bahamians birthright in acreage attached to the property.
In all fairness to former Prime Minister Dr. Minnis, people should remember that he had to deal with one of the worst medical epidemic the world faced, Covid.
the Bahamas has had its share of having to deal with critical disastrous illnesses going back a century and has sometime in 1880's having to quarantine people to Athol island across from Montagu and having them try to fend and die with Diphtheria, Yellow Fever and others. Cases of the wealthy Smith family is documented with them left on the island with a few days food and their little daughter died.
In having the epidemic starting to appear in Nassau it takes a exceedingly strong measures to start handling the spread on a small island and having to deny the rights of its citizens to gather and spread the deadly disease. No one likes their rights and freedoms to be taken away.
Dr. Minnis and his medical team Dr. Dahl, Dr. McMillan, Dr. Forbes entire medical staff, doctors, nurses, technicians and volunteers were at the front line of battle, internationally people dying by the seconds worldwide, as experimental cures were still being studied for effectiveness and having were against huge challenges in isolating people and preventions to fight the deadly Covid.
In the Bahamas --- some 850 people died, --- some 38,000 were Covid cases, --- some 36,000 recovered and there are protocols and measures in place.
Dr. Minnis needs some credit and both sides of the politicians need to recognise the huge task of Dr. Minnis and the entire Medical team in bringing this beloved Bahamaland through the Covid epidemic crisis, instead of throwing stones at him for having to take on the deadly Covid which needed immediate and harsh measures to control and stop people dying.
He needs to have an obvious conversation with his counterparts in the US to stop rocking our little country and neighbouring country which uses the US currency as our currency. based on special and historic arrangement use.
When our US dollars go down in value or plunges in value, it costs us more to buy from all other countries Bahamas merchants import from and he should at least grow some tingums and have the courage to open his mout and start talking to his US counterparts.
Political leaders do not function as leaders without the team of close advisors and best resources to function successfully.
Within each team as Caesar found out are traitors and back stabbers. Within these teams are boot kissers, brown nosers and the inevitable envious wannabe leaders who have mastered the skills, Machiavellian skills to try and become leader themselves. It is not under the advice of others of what the leader should do, but no advise and watch the leader loses and for the next chain of command to take over. The failures are not entirely all done by Dr. Minnis but should be shared by his team. the Prime Minister is not solely elected by himself by the electorate as Prime Minister, but by the entire party willing the majority seats.
In all fairness, Dr. Minnis at times have been very informative in revealing really terrible corruption plaguing Bahamian democracy in Parliament, and after all these endless criticisms and insults, mere words, Dr. Minnis should become a formidable warrior in Parliament and running red hot.
