...er...need not to build and expand Fox Hill Prison for Debtors. The upsidedown world is that the Prison would be privilaged for regular meals etc., while the outside population have to beg for bowls of gruel long lines, water bills gone up water cannot be paid and looks time for the outhouse or historic metal potty inside house at night, lights off no jobs no money no electricity 24 hrs lights off, confined curfew stresses on the outside etcetc. Seems that prison is not inside Fox Hill Prison, seems Prison is on the outside with population tortured prisoners of events.

Isn't it still a co-founder of the major web shop, and partner of Mr. Bastian, a Mr. Adrian Fox a "fugative" and wanted by a US Court after all these years ???

These deals needs to be fully investigated when the politicians use thousands of acres of Bahamian property with foreign investers.. Last four including Izmirlian major deals involving thousands of acres of land....like the $2.8 billion dollars Ginn in Grand Bahama,,....the I Group some $1.8 billion dollars and thousands of acres almost all the beaches in Mayaguana,....like the recent Oban some $5.5 billion dollars in Grand Bahama.

Investigations are needed on these failed projects. The only investigations seems subsequent to these billion dollar deals and with known investigation and audit, seems to be the already known irregularity in the Govt Ministry already exposed is the usage of $582.40 (five hundred and eighty two dollars and forty cents) used to make medals with the Minister's pphoto on it, and female Minister was rightly reprimanded and forced to repay the $582.40 ...versus... the string of billion dollar failures and thousands of acres and millions in concessions..

In a multi billion dollar investment and by Izmirlian investor or any other involving Bahamian portion of lands, concessions etc and making significant impact on its failure on economy....and there is no investigation by Govt..!!!!!! No politicians should by playing with the peoples birth right with investors and foreign govts and NO investigaations into the multi billion hotel project leading to its failure.!!!!

Whether the solutions are not simple or difficult, the coming Hurricane season starts in a couple of months and the lives of the inhabitants of shantytowns are in a more dangerous situation in the shantytowns. Simple or hard solutions for the inhabitants in known shantytowns must have forward action to ensure the safety of peoples lives in the coming Hurricane season.

Bizarre keeping one Bahamas Air going until killing off dozens and dozens of BAhamians in the free market aircraft transportation industry with debts, loans, employees, plans for expansions, other routes. Govt should get the hell out of these businesses...unfairly competiting with its own entrepreneurs and now at this critical point...very intentionally doing actions ....eliminating them. Seeking an Independent Police Complaints Authority for a Police Force whose duties are to maintain Law and Order among other duties for the nation is a strong request leading to questions of competance to deal within itself. To allegedly fail to administer to public what they cannot do to those within organiztion..... and.... request for Independent Police Complaints Authority....er,... should raise question on why do they exist in doing primary mandate of police work in the first place...????

Way past time for the Govt to go after the some 29% in Bahamas trade in fraudulent invoices and fraud of that sort that Financial Secretary Marlon Johnson had raised abbout a year ago and he somehow became silent on that.

Everyone have known for years and years of persons ducking or commiting fraud to avoid paying Customs duties or rightful taxes from persons with invoices at airport to trailers.

Then after holes in this evolved, is the Vat to augment revenue, then the next Vat to augment the previous Vat which was to augment collevtion of porous Customs duties holes.

simple solution instead of pussyfooting, beating around the bushes, is for a govt, is to start jailing those caught at the beginning at the porus tax collection and those merchants ridiculously inflated gouging priced items.

Weeeeell monkey oncle, this coming from the former Central Bank employee and later senior former Bank of the Bahamas Executive from all those years of service.....300M to some 500M millions of taxpayers dollars somehow gotten into the bank by politicians despite thousands of Private shareholders to prop up this bank. Frankly if the taxpayers had invested these hundreds of millions of dollars into any other areas, taxpayers would not be as broke ass now and nobody held responsible risk approvals for all those politians loans gone bad. (300M taxpayers money invested into Amazon Shares would have been nice.)And noone responsible for front pages expose by former Central Bank Governor James Smith who exposed money paid for collateral worth a lot less.

The Bahamas would not be in this downward spiral if the curruption of past and present regressive taxation had more accountabilities and persons held responsible for wastages etc, and punishing curruption. Taxpayers are tired, tired, tired and vexed at new systems being imposes to correct shortcomings of past tax systems.
