Cannot legislate morality. Who is to say 10 chances of playing 10 cents and a chance to win hundreds of dollars when you dead broke is wrong to a business the govt itself approved. The business of gambling whichin the govt approved is to exttact as much money from the clients than they paying out odderwise they would not be in business fer too long.

tut tut tut....as a former banker he should have claimed there were 771 ?? The postoffice site I understand was the homestead ofone branch of the Malcolm family who served the nation speaker judge and the site was given to the people on which the govt built the post office

The 4 storey limit seems to have changed and will affect construction downtown Bay St starting with Pointe. It is likely any possible view will be blocked as any developer will want to go higher.

Govt trying to balance the budget and all dem past govt policoes that the Central Bank saw nothing wrong wid govt wasting money, national debt run up, ......even the Bank of the Bahamas bin suing Central Bank, ..billion dollar mortgage loan defaults crippling country....plenty losing homes left right centre......banks pulling out of major islands....consumers complaining over 100% plus increase in bank fees, complaints Central Bank support previous govt carrying too much govt short term securities, owing 40 % Bisx whichin everybody shares traded,.........muddoes dred....and 40-45,000 peoples jnder poverth line, 1 in 8 going to bed hungry......govt laying off people.....post office moving outta downtown to Gladstone road......an yall looking to gets rewarded..?.new building......yall better computerize like the banks yall supposed to oversee an try replace people wid computers.....stop the regressive mentality an move wid the rest of the world.....an try sharing or better sell dat stuff dat yall on ...cause it seem medical grade....

What this shows is the level of democracy, the right to represent the views of the actual people and not be a part of the old boys network when which people vote for change and it does not happen....just like what is being unravelled when massive costly trophy projects are built in family islands and PMH dont have beds for the pore.....an people aint speaking up for the pore...

McAlpine voted different recently in the Speakers issue and his dissenting vote turned out to be much applaided as correct by the people. In all fairness Mr Johnson is onto something in that in good governance someone has to deal with the Bahamian currency changed into US currency for purchases and then finding out the values of the imports at Bahamas customs is a lot less or more?.....or maybe some goes yo purchase that vacation condo in US....sweetheart money??....lol
Another examination is being done is thst persons in US may be making purchases to ship back to the Bahamas goods sold in Bahamas and turned into land purchases etc or having been laundered taken out of the Bahsmas via business returned .....any combination ....he has a duty to try these things ....one must also give him credit since he used to be a former businessman operating a pastry store next in Centerville selling deliciois pastries....

It is Nassau centric where the majority of political representatives are chosen. Despite the family islands combined may have a group of repreentatives democratically by vote in the Parliament Nassau wins.
Coupled with this is the major affliations betwern govt offocials other groups etccentered in Nassau such as corruption etc impede allocation of fumds.
Roc wid Doc is setting up his PM office also in other family islands too whoch is a paradime shift and is wished every success and needs the full team work. All islands need incentives help to bring some evonomic independence. Govt missed opportunities to offer tax credots to get banks to use their money expertise, bank officer guidance, banking facilities business, loans, overdrafts, monitoring progress for clients etc whivh bank officers living there will do....to create opportunities in various areas family islands Agriculture, job creation businesses in family islands instead of using govt using tax just for tax . Tax credits should have been offered to incentivise banks and businesses to grow opportunities in family islands instead of banks forced today doing the reverse.
