"The prime minister is supposed to come back on Sunday. Well, he may land in darkness."
It would be quite unsettling for any Prime Minister to be reading this while on official national business and envisioning the consequences on the sick, disabled, persons needing electricity for pumps to have cruvial water etc....and then allso to return and be confronted with the CJ issue.
This should be most embarrassing to all Bahamians regatdless of political views for the nations leader as democratically elected leader of our highest elected Office of the Prime Minister to be hearing while his back was turned being officially designnated to do our nations business at this highdst internationals levels. And to be confronted with the CJ issue to made a decision bettween the two.
Roc wid Doc did articulate his point on curruption and despite some who want to cover up it as talking down it is a revealing change that he calls a spade a spade and intemds to do away with corruption.
We want to attract investors to build and they mist be fully assured as must be every country there that just like Singapore we will not tolerate corruption and will pursue perpetrators to thd fullest extent of law.
Some different agency should be set up to monitor these banks. The regulator who monitors them for these same areas of concern is doing the survey. Many and possibly all these banks certainly run to the fullest law abiding standards but some independent agency shoild be doing the survey. Already with many concerns lf money laundering in local banks, the employee of CoB laindering some 600k, the BPL banker alleged incident, the local banker on contract allegedly placing some 61,000 in different accounts, the other main street banker allegedly suing his employer over some issue etc. A Financial Conduct Authority similar to the UK is also needed for the Bahamas where there is some recource for customers who have problems with banks and challengong bankscwho have best lawyers.
'The regulator Bahsmas Central Bank) unveiling the results of an anti-moneylaundering/ counter terror financing survey that drew responses from 80 licensees..'....... Well arent there some 250 banks??? How were these questions phrased? Are there any assocoations ties between these banks and other entities?? Always the wiifm question?.. Well frankly ifthe Bahamian authority were to do a survey on 80 prisoners in FoxHill prison I am certain they would all give favourable responses. Given a number of questions that can be raised on the regulator itself etc. the full survey and questions must be published!!
...hhmmmmmmmm....psssst....pssßst.... ...Doc.people scrappin catchin hell calling it ggood time,.the majority a us.strugglin.....outta work..?....40,000 plus below poverty level...1 in 8 going to bed hungry..people on soup line...many charities operating to help...govt lowering price fer land and cost fer house so people can afford house.....how can the unemployed pay fees??......if the strughlin losing homes and even banks cant make profit where is the money to buy medecine?? ...you aint know how many parents gon feed childrenn sn not treat demselves???....Hospital aint someting where profit can be made..its always heavily subdidized .and you brings in 50 % jncome tax to pay ...psssst recheck dis one Doc
Banks also need to innovate....create products....amend some of the ways they do business.....I have done it a number of times to make life easier.......use other situations. For instance it may be expensive for one person to buuy a 50 x 100 lot and build a house...why not build a duplex and sell to two persons...each own a half??......why not do reverse mortgages???.....why not get into longer year term mortgages??.....why not get into get more structurally prefab hurricane proof etc reduce costs??...why not get into mortgages with rscrow savings account and use for emmergrncy or balloon payment??......I think pne bank does this..why not do 99 yr leasehold .and options.etcetc....any more I d have to charge for consultation....
Did they talk about the majority of Bahamians voting NO to the illegal number houses beconing legal as decided by the govt held Referendum but the govt went against the peoples democratically decision???
