Why profile the Chinese when the banking industry aggressive lendings to over 4,000 mortgage or mostly joint loans some 8,000 Bahamians for some one billion dollars default5ed loans, severely affecting growth, jobs etc Loans and lending policies need to be investogated and where aggressive lendings, marginal loans doomed to failure given then errant lrnders need to be punished. They need to be onvestigated for cash prizes, bonuses, trips, SUVs given out as prizes, salary kncreases etc. for giving out the most mortgage loans, marginal etc.....
Instead we have a Regulator who sees nothing wrong with $16 chq cashing fee etc, been sued by of all people a bank who did not meet its teir ratios to operate, allowed then unregilated web shops to deposit money in banking system, and now is taking away banking functions from banks as credit reference a function best done by banks having all credit history and part of banking clearing system,
Banking innvestigations need to be done and if class action lawsuits are needed so be it.
absolutely preposterous to be only blaming the bahamian borrowers as if they went in the mortgage banks and mathematically calculated their owm debt service ratios safety margins and gave the loans to themselves with high likelihood to fail,,!!

How does he get travel documents after 18 years old? What are his travel documents to leave Haiti a sovereign nation? Can one nation just drop off persons into another country by plane?? Goodness grief!! Surely these expressions from the regulator of bahamian banks in financial sector is inelegant at a time when we are losing Correspondent banks and our financial sector is under close scrutiny. These terms I cannot recall being in any Bahamian Regulation Act.
We need to separate bank supervision/ from the Central Bank where Governor and Directors are politically appointed yo oversee any works by same govt.

DDK.....you may not realize it but the process should be accelerayed immediately to address the entire area because the intense heat created poisons from chemicals, rat poisons, poisonous material, batteries, latrine waste, zinc sheets, lead paints, ,old aesbestos roofs , etcetc that is almost 100 % expected to seep into the ground water and the next door homes water supply are likeky to be contaminated. Persons are likely to have breathing problems, rashes, etc. The entire area should be quarentjined and health officials examine everyone.

Importantly, with free schooling, medical facilities and little or no law enforcement they thrive.
Bahamian workers who live outside the shanty cannot compete as the lower level of wages accepted by lower cost shanty town workers whose costs of living expenses are lower. True equilibrium point in supply and demand cannot be met because of the cheaper labour of shanty and employers...owners of busonesses.... can always pay less than mimimum and have good labour supply.
