Banks are not perfect.
For too long we have been conditioned into thinking persons dressed in what we would consider Church attire, suits etc and sitting in fancy offices located in buildings with fancy carpets and furnishings.....must have your best interest at heart. Newsflash, its part of the show that the pristine image is part psychological. Its the Pratfall effect where people tend to believe well dressed people even though they are lying through their teet!!
Many times bankers are caught in jailable crimes
BUT to preserve this perfect image many crimes are not publictly repprted and hidden at all costs with secret deals to repay and keep crimes hidden

Regretably too many of us Bahamians hold on to this polished view for other reasons.
Thankfully recent crimes like the BPL million dollar alleged crimes have seen bankers charged with crimes.

Investigations are needed by independent agancies looking out for the customers like the UK Finamcial Conduct Authority and US Comsumer Financial Protection Bureau , Truth in LendingAct etc, to investigate and audit banks, credit unions, securities firms, payday lenders, mortgage servicing operations, foreclodure relief services, debt collectors, web shops and others.

Thankful that an investor has come in especially when there are other major investments going on around the world.
Mudda sic dred now here the Chamber of Commere as a official? spokes piece go again 'warning' and trying to move the goal posts after the investor jus steps off the plane.

Is this what our fees and concessions in becoming a member of caricom is reaping?

There are more important joint ventures we can indulge in such as climate change

Rising tides not only affect our shores but also inland water ponds, swampland (many subdivisions which seem to have been filled in land), blueholes low land mass as well.

More should have been demanded and expected from caricom given the more important effects of climate change on our land mass, shallow seas, coral reefs etc. to survive as a nation than the benefits of smoking and selling weed.

While the use in medecine is welcomed various lobby groups should have movie showings of 'Reefer Madness' or 'Tell your Children'. Guarranteed to have large audience.

While the RBCOfficial has earned a senior position as the northern head and views this mobile app as inevitable he must bear in mind that many a big company even bigger than RBC had made many disastrastrous drcisions like Coke, GM etc which thought their change was the future for that market was inevitable
At this point to use the ATMs to deposit cash needs to be assessed in light of our Money laundering, Know your Customer laws etc because I yet to see a RBC Atm assess a customer depositing any sispicious funds that a teller can ask and looking at various screens to question or flag or compare history of yhe account. to follow the law.
Obviously, the northern managrr must know of some secret way of abiding by legal Bahamian regulations to have the machine get the job done to save us from another round of blacklisting.
Deposit in the Atm and use App to transfer, wire funds. Looks great for depositing cocaine sales money and wiring it to outside country definately is progress from other illegal methods...now if only we can get an App to protect depositors and speed up that ATM line.

Tetelestial ..persons are already been laid off by govt ,businesses which are not viable are closed, liquidated, merged, sold, Carls jr, Nassau Shop, Mauras, Ironmongery, Clico, Barclays Bank, Gulf Union Bank,Junkanoo Carnival, Hotel Corporation, former Bahmarownership changing and many others. People get laid off its the way business is run globally.
While we believe in Bahamians we have common sense not to waste money, who doesnt. Last May the majority voters put 29 persons MPs including the former PrimeMinister out of work because they wanted to know where their hard earned VAT money is and wastages in running a 8 billion dollar economy.
Our people are suffering like Grand Bahama, some islands up to this 21 century do not have proper water supply, some have their homes destroyed, some islands infrastructure destroyed. Clearly in the above article who among us would not prefer our VAT 100 million and 166 million money to help our truly suffering brothers and sisters yhan poured into a bank especially needing a public independent investigation. Who are the 13 loan in Resolve?
We operate in a global envoronment and when we invite investors and businesses govt must not intervene to unbalance the market against the investor be they banks, (who charge high fees) or open bids for contracts etc

While you and many can see that again it up to the same nomenklatura to authorize.
Plus in addition BoB accepts the web shop funds and the Canadian Banks by policy do not at least in theory anyhow.

The previous gpvt 100 million note crustallised for it to be redemed even it was only worth 45 ( also see 22.5m Guardian Bus Fri, Oct 28, 2016 sectB - Resolve loans were only worth $22.5m) million and the second bailout by govt of 166 millipn was only worth 50 million net value. Plus govt bought rights issue for some 40 million noone wanted and while this was gping on share prices fell losing some 160m in value.
Forensoc investigations are needed and people fired because the national cookie jar should not be emptied And pouring money for less value needs to follow business common sense, value for money.
Bank needs to compete under fair and level market conditions when other international banks must follow the rules.
International banks BahamianRegistered must now increase fees to survive the Bahamian govt intervention in unfairly propping up BoB when the govt charges us VAT and props up BOB. Getting goosied by govt and other banks
BoB should have immediately been sold after 166m intervention rather and even now or consolidated with similar Mortgage Corp andDevBank
Investigations are needed and with all of this unbalances in figures and value coming up it is obvious it does not happen by itself and noone dismissed so far.
