Which one??

bogart says...

AGREED!!! it is wrong and should be stopped immediately as it is with govt being complicit in this immoral, dehumanising act enabling some govt workers to take home less than $50. per month. So who will bell da cat??

Socrates you are leading Mr Johnson in what should be correct according to the Credit and Truck system where the truck act laws was used to protect workers from exploitation by working for the merchants and forced to accept script or vouchers to only be redeemed at company stores.
Today the govt employee contract should not allow the govt to be complicit with the merchant in extracting portions of the employees paycheck when the govt or dept is not a financial agent or act in capacity of one without financial expertise and without due care and attention.
The systen also creates a false representation and unfair credit system to non govt employees who must go through a rigorous due care and attention process where the TDSR total debt service ratio of 45% income applies AND the bank has a due care to ensure the applicant can live on the remaining 55% or else no judge will agree the loan can be repaid successfully.
We need independent agencies like the 2013UK Financial Protection Bureau or the 2010 US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Any employer must have a duty of due care and protection for the employee to ensure the conditions of work is healthy including having money for food. Its common sense and may lessen curruption.
On the other hand the salary should go directly to the employee and what they do is their business and the govt has no right to act as a personal banker without receiving a fee for this salary assignment or deduction service they entertain.
Similarly, the BPL should not be allowing staff to run up financial charges in owing light bills when the company is govt. supported by taxpayers.
Similarly govt vehicles should not be used for private use on taxpayer gas. Similarly govt should not be having the Bank of the Bahamas give out loans which cost the taxpayers some 300 million over the past 5 years and no public investigation etcetc. Same ol same ol.
Admire President Obama for recognising the Cuban situation as continuing because they have been doing the same things year after year and then expret some fundamental change.
Do the right thing Mr. Johnson.

Same policies wrapped in different coloured paper according to whomsoever rules.
The 500k to 250k for Freeport only means all those repossessed properties will be bought for little whereas govt should be investigating all these marginsl loans, predatory loans and underwater mortgages.
We need to know why the Freeport economy collasped not only blaming the hurricanes.
Protection for the Bahamian people should come first, with agencies to look out for the people first and not outsiders to come in and buy up all the peoples houses that they have sweatted a lifetime to own.
More protections for the foreign banks, insurance, oil companies, hotels than the people who only seen important 2 weeks before elections..
Ridiculous that anyone will brlieve that any entrepreneur will stick to one business. Ask Mr. Kelly lumber store if all he sells is lumber.
Bringing in 250k investors only seem to help the Port to sell properties. And more complaints at the .Labour Board for novice investors.
We already have the small hotel encouragement act to develop small hotels and now we have AirBnB to compete.

Tribune Friday,17, Nov. Article on Hatbouring
Illegals the ImmigrationAcr revised 5th
May,2015 points out that anyone guilty of harbouring an illegal may be fined/10,000 or/and go to jail for 5 years.
Disappointed that despite 210 illegals rounded up a few Frifays ago and no one charged under this Act. This is serious lost money not being collested and raises the question if anyone has ever been charged since 5.5.2015 ???

Whichever govt can have as much foreign policy change, foreign investments till the cows come home but unless whichever govt is prepared to first stop the hemmoraging of arterial life blood VAT money collected on top of Customs Duties and wasted,
poured some 300 million into the Bank of the Bahamas, poured into other govt entitoes and none of their own appointed to these Boards be held accountable, millons spent for Defence and smugglars boats still landing, millions spent on hospitals, schools for children born to illegals who can avoid detention for years until their children are 18 and can apply for citizenship on this small island, growth of huge illegal shanyytowns and no employer ever charged, millions spent to keep and send them back.
AND now inviting further imputs foreign or otherwise to do what???......be poured into the same existing holes???
Clean the house first before having guests over, always wear clean underwear before going out, make sure you brush yer teeth and clean the bippy from yer eye before going out, dont dress shabby, its the pratfall effect.

Politician from the Executive Branch, in the House of Assembly, Parliament, on the Commercial Enterprises Bill, said qoute (10th para), 'It's about recognising the fact that we have a deficit of talent in this country.' The darnest things politicians say.

Same christian Pasters did raise all doubts when a bill was put to the House that it should be a crime for husbands to rape their wives. Some 3,000 churches apparently see nothing wrong with majority babies born to single females. Same christian Pastors failed to follow through with protests against gambling, Pastors have little to say about Crime that is why I applaud a group of women to wear pants and show the Pastors how it should be done.

Excellent move way overdue and should have started before the woods closed in. Every man born is of a woman and applaud efforts to educate both males and females. And especially those females who fall prey to sweet talking males as it appears we have too many single females raising children.
