162 million quickly inserted after elections by the Finance Minister to stop BoB lawsuit against the Central Bank to now meet tier ratios despite deposits and shortly before 100 million support to create Resolve and guarrantee crystalised plus 40 million buy shres and drop in share price from over $5 to $1 + svhare value dropping some 160 million in share value and no investigation etcetc. and to generate 4.2 million profit. Really anyone commenting here has the capability of getting a better return with an investment of 162 m than 4.2m.We all love Bahamian but have the common sense to realize we re not good at owning or running hotels in our primary sector but still unable to realize we are unable to run financial institutions despite massive injections and lax regulations.
This is an entity if any that should have serious forensic investigations.

He is not the only one who is angry and comes across as crazy, he is part of many os us who in various degrees upset with curruptipn, duplicity, double talk, lack of accountability, transparency, financial accountability and in different ways of expression try to get better results. One even does it in verse though not quite as well as Maya A but nevertheless good.

Here newly elected had to come in running to pick up from the previous and it seems difficult to deliver simultaneously on all fronts especially when coming from a small opposition previously occupied with a number of challenges to its leadership which all knew.

Afew years ago I believe the HaitianAmbassador went to South Beach when a illegal boat had just landed and was assisting our Officers.

As the Haitian Ambassador he should be brought in the picture to encourage his fellow citizens who are here illegally.

In addition to the Haitian Ambassador so too should the Legal Representatives of the Jamaicans and Columbians as citizens of their cojntries were also caught .

We need every Ambassador or Representatives of these illegal migrants to be more active or visible in assisting our efforts to enforce our laws and protect our sovereignity.

DDK, There is merit in everything everyone has to say, and querstion, some see the glass half full, partial, empty, broken and multitide of ways and I while I could not possibly agree in all degrees with every senario I agree for them to have that right to say it to educate all.
In this particular case I like a couple of others like the ihe idea and I must stress that anything that has a chance of saving police and civilian lives and deterring criminals, I as a crime victim would be supportive.

Birdiestrachan a further part of that same article is ....there is no law which requires anybody to walk around with proof of citizenship and Immigration officers have no right to demand you produce such proof, or detain you if you cannot. That is a flagrant violation of the constitution, which guarantees freedom of movememy and that you are presumed innocent until...
How can our law enforcement officers oprate if their suspicions are aroused and if they cannot demand you produce some id.. Given the many illegals with Haitian names and many legal ones too the law handocaps our officers in going further and no wonder the situation grows.

A paradime shift is needed in that we need an agency as Homeland Security with wide ranging powers combining all the powers of existing agencies and increase in penalties.Continuing the same old way is not working. Just by seeking the recent boatload 27 others were apprehended.
How many rings have we ever smashed, captains caught, persons arrested for aiding and abetting, employers charged, etc. Using the same strategies??

Excellent move which should have been done a long time for any additional protection of our officers and enhansement of our justice dystem. Tired of reading these culprits caught while commiting tje crime but they go to court and get bail and plead not guilty. Some lawyers may protest but with the camera should nring a speedy conclusion to many cases.

Boards of Directors are not perfect nor are govt appointed Boards and appointment of senior management.hence the frustration of seeking other avenues. Regulatory agencies or govt just need to do a better job of making them more accountable before pouring more money into them.

Inter agency bureaucracy with multiple layers is easy to fix, lay them off if their roles are redundant or retrain them for areas where there sre short staffed or are they to be kept on as the Czar and other new layer take over. What you seem to want to say is that govt needs to streamline and redirect staff for greater efficiencies.

Excellent navigation and sailing skills to evade and land nightime precise time and location for 100% success, leaving only the empty boat on the beach.

We need to hire that captain and crew to work on our side and pay them more than what they earn for a trip using a wooden disposable sloop and having greater success than a 1/4 billion dollar top notch naval vessels.
While we have a very good RBDF, not all are in charge and heads must roll for this breech in not protecting our sovereign nation yet again. Also heads must roll for paying new marines 600 dollars less than contractual salart of 18,600.
