Only two political parties have been sitting at the same peoples parliament for how many years dince independence 1973 and the size of the govt is noone else fault. Cant blame the other yet to be elected parties. There hss always been an opposition amd the ruling party with all salaries paid by the people.
Given the archipelogoc multi island many govt functions as hospitals police stations etc have to be repeated.
Another view is that if the private sector is not creating jobs possobly 20 ,000 plus jobs are by worker permits therefore the govt sector provides jobs to rase suffering but shojld not be on a permanent basis.
On the size of the salaries it is up to the Board of Dorectors and Senior management usually appointed by the politicsl party in power, take for instance the Bank of the Bahamas.

Both parties are always in the same green coloured room except for some occasion in the pasr where one side walked out.

The police need to use body cameras and cameras on police car dashboards.

Good for the bullet hole to be shown on the car but some lawyer will have these alleged shooters plead not guilty even though they were caught in the act or red handed and they will apply for bail where they will continue to wreak havoc and only something will be done when some socialite or high standing citizen is hurt.

Cameras evidence will definitely make it more difficult for the criminal to plead Not GUILTY even thoigh and a fewer number of lawyer will still try to get them to say not guilty even with the camera evidence in court.

While the top was making these big salaries what about the bottom where workers were making a number of times their salary in overtime as the former Leslie Miller had pointed out.....
Does this mean that both the top and bottom were squeezing the daylights out of us the taxpayer....?
What ever fod happen to the theft of oil from the Eleuthera tank.....?

Every loan needs to be investigated. Where customers did not meet the bank policies and were approved somrone has to be hehd responsible.
Where and there are likely to be cases of irregularoties, where there was not due care and attention done or negligence occured then persons must be compensated.
Its simple to follow standard world wide loan procedures either the applicant can repay or cannot repay. To have massive reoccurring failures with yhe peoples money mist call for public investigations. All the prosecutorial language in Parliament about the big words like malfeasance, accountavility, transparency, its the peoples time must also be translated into action outside......otherwise its like both sides of the same coin.

If you are dealing with changing light bulbs it could be more in that it takes six to hold the ladder and one to climb up.....mind you more will be needed as there was no one to actually check the light to see if it was actually blown and needed changing in the forst place.....

Yes loved the plan for the second floor to the Straw Market. But the PMs former law partner and then new PM decided to save costs and some protests from another MP with vision and that was that.
Cannot see how all those cars in the hirise parking lot will all get out on the tiny Bay St. At 5 pm. Didnt like no preservation made on what was the first Fort Nassau ,the beginning of Nassau

What has the Regulator done?

Well this is ironic in that the Bank of the Bahamas was suing the Central Bank before our Deputy PM And Finance Minister who is an accountant stepped in and ?..?.......resolved the issue. Well its resolved or is it resolved ?

A Public Hearing or any bit of hearing with the public or even a scrap of public Hearing seeing that hundreds of millions have gone into tjis bank as only persons paid by the same govt who appoints the Chairman and Board of Directors audit the Bank.

While forensoc audits were promised by the DNA it should be apparent brfore any massive injection of public funds by any Public officials should warrent public consent.

As a Bahamian I am proud of anytjing bearing the name Bahamian but I am not prepared to lose common sense by wasting hard earned money from Bahamians who are suffering, sacrificing, and vworse off as never brfore to pay VAT.so that it can be thrown down a hole and without any public consultation or public inquiry.

Loans should be investigated and where wrongdoing is found then punishments must follow. What was the oppodition doing all this time ?

Disappointed with the DPM. It is time Mr. D Aguilar be given the position as the Finance Minister as he is has a lot of business practival sense and is not one of the previous political club.

What a disaster he only got off one shot.....

This carries forward in that some lawyer will actually have the robber plead not guilty in court even though there are now PMH records and the robber has been seen by plenty witnesses.
Keep reading for the good lawyer who will do his evdeavour best to get the alleged robber off on bail and then plead not guilty!!!,
