Bingo Thisisours.

The Application for Bahamian Citizenship is fundamentally flawed as is Advertised with the prospective applicant in the newspapers with the Applicant with their photograph. didn't the government know that they are approving the advertisement for citizenship ------ and the public is requested to respond of adverse conditions to the government ----- wid da Applicant for Citizenship advertisement, ----- authorized by the government ----- to be identified as ----- living in a huge vague geographic area like somewhere along a mile long Kemp Rd. address or like living address in Advertisement ----- as Freeport, Grand Bahama ?????

"Continued influx of Haitians driven by local employers"

This is not entirely true, this omits the stages before the point of employment ----- someone has to communicate from the Bahamas to someone in Haiti ----- there is the obvious money funding for the illegal journey ----- there is the arrival illegal or legal ----- there is the meeting of the person(s) and the housing of the person(s) in some Bahamian location at some length of period with food, clothing, shelter transportation etcetc until employed.

Clearly, all of those persons who are in the enabling aiding and abetting and facilitating of this illegal human trafficking process need to be stopped and arrested.

Somehow all that seems to happen is the apprehension of the unlucky person and returned to Haiti where the illegal process occurs again, and again, and seem so for numerous times, while the system becomes more and more entrenched illegally and growing larger and larger in the Bahamas.

@TalRussell good comments but on no government as the entire unit will not make it stop ------ stems or originates from individuals who seem to be a previous good idea to raise lucrative revenue stream of fees from Work Permits, others seem to use it for cheap labour, not only Haitians to build Bah Mar and rebuild British Colonial Hotel etcetc. Known originating challenges is for decades now worse in the Bahamas as the sixth most expensive country to live in ----- using known Minimum Wage for foreign workers has forced them to live at unlivable wages which is horrible

@ThisisOurs good observation on the numbers of issues. The period leading up as to who will be the next leader in elections for the next 5 year term of powerful office is the most vulnerable position of the leaders of the political parties.

Ambitious wannabees wanting to be the next PM is not always the Opposition leader and other political party leaders but there are those high ranking wannabees within these groups who will cleverly find ways to undermine Caesar. While the ultimate head will be distinctly faulted, the sources of these failures lies with the decades long failures of the Urban Renewal within these known communities with massive challenges. The Police is the end unit. Labour and unemployment is also a challenge, challenges from decades exist with immigration within these areas and host of sociological behaviors of groups just seem to be allowed to fester.

The Opposition leader has challenges with many persons who have almost certain ambitions of being leaders from the times of Dr. Minnis.

There are clearly well known laws on the illegal amounts of breaking Bahamian Laws building illegally, pollution etcetcetc enacted by the Bahamian Legislators that must be applied in the same manner as is applied to everyone.

Breaking of these laws that had continued for decades and decades under the continuously watchful eyes and continuous knowledge of the legislators without action at the beginning would not have resulted in the excessive pain and tortuous suffering of these victims at this advanced stage. These plain wishy washy enforcement of some laws and of nnot some laws is plain indicative of the wishy washy mentality and select favoritism at this time to create hurtful situation.

The authorities solution to knowingly force these victims into the already overcrowded urban communities also intentionally creates clearly different sub-groupings/blocks distinct communities of people with clearly crazy glue united ties of language and way of life, culture, norms, customs, taboos etc. (Days ago many were not celebrating Bahamian Emancipation Day Aug. 4th simply that is not theirs and a number of others.)

"**The case stemmed from a lawsuit filed by former immigration detainee Dahene Nonord, who had successfully sued for constitutional breaches and misfeasance in public office against several government officials, including the then‐Prime Minister and the Minister of Immigration."**

Very horrible lengthy experience to be experienced by Ms. Nonord as recalled from previous photos of a very very slight and thin female. Kudos to Ms. Nonord in the fight of David against Goliath.

.....Thankful to the very insightful comments below and one of the named WW!! evil military unit leads one to focus on -----"former Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis has proposed introducing legislation to prevent international fast food franchises from operating in the Family Islands."

This issuance by a current Commonwealth of the Bahamas Parliament Legislator is more alarming and being on a front page of a leading daily newspaper as to whether any Bahamian Legislator can be allowed to deny/prevent foreign franchaices food which is internationally available known to over a billion people worldwide without and legal recalls to health harmful ------- and now to be noted by Bahamian Parliament Legislator to to By Legislation to issue statement to 'prevent" a named section of Bahamian with equal Constitutional Rights the food.

NO Bahamian Legislator should be allowed to indicate this type of Legislation to prevent food to any targeted Bahamian citizens or residents of the Bahamian Family Islands under the Bahamian Constitution.

@ pt_90 you obviously clearly quite correct in the food analysis.

As to the policy, it is also quite well known that these foreign fast food businesses have been legally approved Govt licensed and operated for decades. Dr. Minnis fully knows this.

Dr. Minnis was also the former Prime Minister with one of the largest majority ruled governments and quite silly to be making these communist anti capitalist US businesses like comments like -----"If you want to bring in foods, use our own restaurants, keep the McDonald’s and Burger King that got us looking fat out.” --------- and getting the front page double headlines with his comments when there are more immediate issues going on.

Dr. Minnis should be more vocal with his views on the instantly fixable situations and deterrence to harmful situations our beloved nations children are being faced with like current dangerous playground equipment and govt employed persons in custody of the children allegedly giving poisonous harmful toilet water to drink.
