Correction. The area indicated as south of the Tower should be better indicated as North of the Fort and at the north entrance at the Queens Stairs and at the southern end of the Elizabeth St.. Apologies.

The entire area immediately south of the Tower and Steps must also be mindful that this the official PMH Staff Entrance and has been used to have Ambulances just at the head of Elizabeth Avenue.

Currently broken up pavement and huge potholes and broken up uneven Medical Staff Parking lots also now used daily by more and more Tour Buses and Taxis, blocking the Parking lots and entrance of Nurses and Medical staff Parking areas needs to be attended to prevent tourists and Medical Staff tripping and injuring themselves. Often also Nurses and Medical staff have to be lining up just to wait for a empty space to park in the Medical Staff Parking lots. The routine is to check in at the timed entrance Elizabeth st. and then drive and go in the line up to park their vehicle and then walk back to employee entrance of the Hospital.

Perhaps the Govt. should consider a new and separate nearby area solely for the Taxis, Tour Buses and tourists and pathway cordoned off from the Nurses, Doctors and Medical personnel and Ambulances.

It is important that the Medical Staff and Ambulances not to be impeded in moving in the Medical Staffing area by increasing Tourist traffic in the area especially in the front of the Nurses, Medical Staff entrance having Taxi Drivers taking dear old sweet time offloading tourist passengers and delay Medical staff in getting to patients where seconds are important in medical treatment.

The union must first teach the taxi cab drivers how to drive on the public roads and respect other road users especially around the area of the Paradise Island bridges, Shirley St. and East Bay St. cutting/boring through into traffic driving through empty lots by Maud St., York St., and a block or two from the Unionist Legal Office.

The tourist have the democratic Bahamian rights to be allowed to choose.

@bahamianson you have keen observations.

The Police Force have had shortages for about a decade ago with previous administrations knowing the need to have some 2,000 to 3,000 extrra POLICE staffing to adequately do the mandated services of Police protection of the people.

It is absolutely INSANE to just forever operating any organization with half the staff essentially needed within the organization to use of little band aids to cover big areas.

The officials of the RBPF needs to repeatedly have conversations with the Politicians instead of explaining the obvious challenges the RBPF faces.

People are tired of the situation and aware that the woefully shortfall of 2,000 to 3,000 or half the Police Force to better function that keeps dragging on for over a decade.

More innocent bystanders have been murdered by utter die hearts criminals having machine gun types shooting up lots of people, male adults, children, grandmas indiscriminately without any concerns versus what the Bahamas Police Force have done.

The Bahamas Police Force is already woeffully understaffed by over 2,000 to 3,000 Officers to take care of the nation and want the few understaffed Police to use enforced mandated non lethal means against increasing more plentiful powerful guns spewing lots of bullets all over the place is not good for the police protection.

The issue is to more importantly protect the majority of the Bahamaland with already 2,000 to 3,000 Policemen shortages and current Police with the existing Police weapons ----- and now considering publictly lesser lethal and effective to protect the murderous hell bent criminals with increasing powerful more bullets in the guns assault weaponry.

IT is the Bahamian people who needs protecting rather than the criminals who will be encouraged to get worse and against a demoralized existing shortages of Police.

In having the already documented understaffed Police Force in having the few hardworked, underpaid and in instances having trained Police and having retired police officers fill the shortages in the police force manpower ----- is an extremely demoralizing lesser feared weaponry aerosol prrays etc against huge quantity of deadly assault weaponrt.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Police may be given non-lethal weapons

Extremely sad Bahamas maritime tourism situation that happened over 2 years ago that will not be forgotten.

Today now 2 plus years later, given all the current increases in the Fees and more Fees now charged on vessels in the Bahamas, it should be expected that these increases in boating Fees be used in the maintenance and increased and rigorous enforced safety on boating vessels plying Bahamian waters.

"Annual inspections were described as “particularly non-specific”, lacking thorough review of crew qualifications, vessel stability, and emergency drill procedures. Licensing standards for captains were minimal, with no endorsements required for passenger carriage or hazardous operations."

SIMPLY, ----- "lacking thorough review of ... vessel stability, and emergency drill procedures" automatically warrants immediately removing these vessels from tourists or Bahamians.

"Mileage Allowance Payments"

Medical employed persons should remember that their private vehicles are under the contract with the Insurance Company as use for personal purposes and not PMH business.

Along with the usage is the event that if there is an accident where there is damage and injury to the medical staff, others etcetcetc and the insurance medical coverage of injuries. Clearly defined insurance coverages and liabilities must be present by the Hospital to its staff using their private vehicles for Hospital business.
