Mr. Bruner, I was a passenger on the ship you son was working on the week he was shot. My wife and I send our condolences to you and your family for this senseless loss. The crew of the Liberty Clipper were devastated by your sons death, and they spoke fondly of him and his passion for life, adventure and sailing. Reading peoples comments in the boats log book showed it was not only the crew which thought highly of your son, but also guests on the Liberty. I wish i had had the chance to shake his hand and say hello. His unfortunate death will hopefully affect some changes here in Nassau. As a resident here we are all shocked, disappointed, saddened and sorry in this tragic event. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Regards, Cj
The american government should put an alert out that no american should come to the bahamas for the next 90 days and see how this nation resolves the "crime" issue then....loss of income, jobs etc will maybe wake this governments from their little nap.
concernedcitizen, agree with you completely....just don't get confused with some bahamians Mostly politicians/officials, confusing the "facts"...it's a national past time...part of the gene pool here in wonder land...
Welcome to the Bahamas tourist! Where your children are raped, your womens robbed and your fathers are murdered....i am actually currently taking a trip on the ship Liberty this gentleman was working on...devistated crew. Senseless killing by Bahamian thugs and a terrible reflection on this nation and its pittiful government...you should be ashamed.
Well spoken and insightful Mr. Gibson. Unfortunately, we can only appreciate your writings and recommendations on this page, as they will more than likely never see the light of day by being implemented in any timely manner by authorities involved with the Carifta and Govt.
Wow, do i agree with Mr. D'Aguilar! Too bad that the country leaders can't figure out who they want to "please" on a consistent basis. One week it's the unions. The next it's the big businesses. Then some relative. The next weeks it's some voodoo doctor. Then the next it's who-knows-what. Tough times require tough choices. Best to face them head on vs sticking your head in the ground and thinking it will go away.
