This makes one wonder. With the start up of Baha Mar, how in the world is BEC going to be able to support something that huge with such an amateurish run company and under producing power grid? I feel sorry for Baha Mar (or any company moving here) as they have tried to bring growth to this country and are met at every turn by resistance and inefficiency. The very infrastructure that is supposed to supply power can't even keep their workers from screwing things up?! The Bahamas gets what we deserve, nothing.
It would seem like this police officer would need to go back for some basic police training. Standard procedure should call for 2 officers to accompany a known aggressive and violent detainee. Lesson learned....at least we hope.
The similarities are stark and very similar regarding the gangs for sure between here and SoCal home. The impact overall on the community is, however in my opinion, probably more substantial due to the small proximity of 80 square mile rock we live on....and that these thugs can/could easily take this island over, and without too much problem for sure if organized and equipped. While the good citizens (and most are), are object to violence, crime etc., there is some sibilance of "lookin' the other way" when it comes to addressing the more deep issues that face us....that being corruption, graft, weak moral constitution and ability to see the long term affects of ones actions and those of others. One day as my southern grand mother us to say, the "hen will come back to roost"....
Does anyone have figures on how many city dump fires there are each year/month? I live down wind from there and could swear we have smoke every 7-10 days....something has got to happen to keep this pollution in check. It affects everyones health and quality of life.
So, your really that naive to think something would be turned around in 100 days? And that these murders were because PLP hadn't done anything? As a resident here i'm amazed at the mindset that you people have. To honestly think that things can be turned around in 100 days. Hey, i've got a bridge for sale and own part of the moon. You want to buy?
