Given time, perhaps Cabinet will meet in Freeport.
Is it imperative that Cabinet meet in Grand Old Nassau every time?? With the financial contribution that Abaco makes to the Treasury, I think it appropriate that this gesture is made. I think we should take a poll of Cabinet Ministers, President of the Cabinet, Cabinet Secretaries et al, to determine if they would prefer to have all future Cabinet Meetings in Abaco. You might be surprised at the outcome.
I would encourage Mr. Christie to hold a Cabinet Meeting as soon as possible in Freeport, which would seem to satisfy the writer of this column - why I cannot say.
At present the Treasury is housed in rented accommodations. Who is to say when the Lease on those rented accommodations will expire? Let us say that the Government is obliged to pay the Lease a few years into the future. What then is the rush to move out? No money will be saved thereby. Just saying....
I am waiting for a 'constructive' Editorial from this Column. Please do not disappoint.
As a customer of CB, I pay my bills six months in advance for each of my several accounts. I am currently paid in full up until the end of December 2012. Suddenly, none of my TV's work.
I spoke with CB by phone this evening, after waiting for 30 minutes on the phone, and was told that if I did not buy or rent a box for each of my TV's, I would not get ANY service. Well, how do you like that? I have prepaid for a service which now they refuse to deliver.
I think I will cancel my subscription and demand my money back. I am tired of the poor quality of programming and lack of service provided to customers here in Abaco.
CB has no respect for its Abaco customers! No resident Customer Service. They tell you that you have to leave your job and stay home all day so that they can install a box that you do not want, but will cost you money each month.
They can take their box and firmly place it where the sun does not shine.
Sorry, Abner your dividend will go down when we ALL close our accounts.
One must always look around the next corner when trying to figure out what motivates some political want-to-be's.
Is Thompson reading the tea leaves? Is he anticipating the eminent (rumored) resignation of one Mr. Key? One should not be surprised to see this happen, and Thompson slide right into the house with a comfortable margin. Remember, Key beat Sawyer by some 500 votes.
It would be difficult for those who followed Roscoe from the FNM to the DNA to follow him back to the FNM.
And, what will Roscoe do if and when HAI returns. Will he celebrate with HAI should Gomez win the North Abaco seat in the upcoming election? Hmmmm
An across the board reduction in the rate of stamp duty would, in my opinion, jump-start the sale or real estate in all brackets. This, in turn, would would go a long way to rekindling the sluggish economy.
Notsogullible:- TRUTH is that Mr. Wells won the seat. conjecture is the thrust of this 'opinion' piece. question is, how many more opinion pieces will appear in an effort to 'soften' the hard landing that befell the FNM on May 7th.?
