It truly is sad how we are literally giving away our land to rich foreigners. The question is what do we do? Does anyone care? Let's be honest you really think there is a trickle down effect from these rich gated communities? It truly is the worse form of gentrification at the expense of the average Bahamian who pays the same amount of taxes as the super rich thanks to our inequitable tax system.

Madhatter, I like the way you think sometimes (still peeved with you on your comment about the Young carifta team), but this is spot on. This is what is missing from our small society looking out for our brotherman, we tend not to get unnerved until it comes to our door steps. Everyone of us should read the 'First The Came For The Jew Poem', I will post below my post. This is what has happened in our country and really the middle class is to blame. The middle class segregated themselves and allowed themselves to be used as pawns. In trying to move up the ladder theyturned their backs on the poor of this country. They adopted the all for me baby attitude as the government dangled the 'you can be riich too' unattainable carrot. Now look the middle class, despite their denial, is simply the working class. Who will fight for the middle class now?

MadHatter you must be a very miserable person. These are young Bahamians and this is what you have to say to encourage them. I know these young people and they are hard working, smart young Bahamians. I actually showed one of them your comment and told them see this is why you have to succeed, to show up those who have given up on our young persons. How sad.

WSC should have been investigated a long time ago. They were overshadowed by how bad BEC was/is. But WSC is no better. Exorbitant salaries, most workers enjoy non contributory pension and will receive about 1/4 of their salaries for life when they retire.

Someone needed to investigate mismanagement at WSC for years now. The other mess ups at the other corporations have overshadowed mismanagement at WSC. Most workers, it was only changed recently, enjoy non contributory pension and upon retirement will receive more than a 1/4 of their salary for life. Their salaries are also way higher than other corproations. All these corporations need to be investigated but as always they are audited then the persons auditing them do nothing because they also want to ride the gravy train.
