Hey... ala, Darold Miller.....hold on, hold on, hold on...... what are the 2 and 3 timing Bahamian males gonna do if they throw back all the fresh young Jamaican and Haitian sweet meat...... What a dysfunctional tropical mess the Bahamas is. Its endearing how Bahamians cling to "Bahamian culture". Yes the music is fun, the people are beautiful, the happy go lucky don't worry, be happy spirit is contagious. But we all know the reality of the Bahamas is power outages, daily robberies and killings, very bad govt with ineffective departments (roads, electric, police, etc) and officials lining their pockets while bankrupting the country. You name the vice, the Bahamas has it and bad. Face it folks, the current Bahamian way of life is failing you. Truth is, in reality the Bahamas is a bottle of cheap champagne. A nice label of shiny beaches and fat tourists, but inside is a bitter concoction of mostly and i do mean mostly (6 of 7 days Mon- Sat) immorality and superficiality. Ie, its not a tropical paradise. Its a tropical mess.

What is so complicated about treating other humans with respect and leaving their dignity intact. Have a written policy and publicize it, then stick to it. Any such policy surely would not include basic human rights violations such as wholesale roundups based on what you look like(Haitian) , what you talk like (Jamaican accent) and where you live(shanty town). Also it would not include the hasty burning of shanty towns and the picking up of children. I have seen it myself the past 18 months while living here. The black on black racism is deplorable. In the us, we have millions entering illegally, we don't like it either, but we don't let our govt resort to the cruel and Gestapo like tactics that the Bahamian govt is doing. Besides if you throw out all the Haitian, Jamaican, Trinidadian, etc then who will be the sweet hearts of all the two and three timing Bahamian males???

Fast talking Freddie is covering PLP arse yet again. The smooth talker is always having to cover up for either his or fellow blundering PLP'ers that have foot in mouth tendencies. If you live in Nassau, then you know full well the truth is the discrimination, bias and unfair treatment of immigrants (both legal and illegal) is commonplace and often cruel and arbitrary. Especially harsh has been the black on black racism. Bahamian men dominate this country and they love there Jamaican and Haitians sweeties on the side. You can be sure, the round up of illegals will not include there sweeties.... Too bad they couldn't treat all Haitians with the same respect when they burn there shacks and round up their parents as when they want some loving from the girl on the side. Yes have a tough immigration policy, but publish it fully, and don't be cruel. Is that so hard to understand? Do unto others and you would have done to you.
I digress, back to the topic...for such a beautiful country, with so many things going for it, the Bahamas seems doomed with its current governmental structure. Every 4 or 8 years a brand new set of "officials" are set in place. But its like picking a sand lot basketball game... "officials" are selected based on appearance and how well they talk. Fast Freddie is a prime example. He looks good, he talks good, but his dept is a dysfunctional non effective mess . Sadly none to few of current of former dept heads have the skill set, experience, or actual moral fiber and character to do good things for the country. Rather they do anything that helps them personally, or that sounds good in the papers. Bahamians, if you want things to get better, vote out PLP and don't put in FNM either. You need a new set of younger, more intelligent people that actually care about the future of their country and have the moral fiber to make sure they set it back on good course.

As a US citizen, Over the past 30 years I have witnessed the onslaught of illegals crossing our borders. all borders from southwestern to southern eastern. Cuban, Mexican, Jamaican, Bahamian, ...you name it, we have tons of illegals. But my observation is that the bias against illegals in the Bahamas is more discriminatory and even cruel and disrespectful often. Please understand that they are human too. Treat them with some respect, they are not here because they want to be. It is worse where they are from.... that's why they risk life and limb to get to the Bahamas. Its the same in the US. Don't take away their dignity by burning their shacks.... don't take away their dignity by taking their children. Enact laws then be rational and respectful and most of all human in the way you deal with the illegal issue. You can just treat them like they are animals. They are human like you and I.

I never witnessed discrimination as bad as when i was in the Bahamas the past 18 months. You Bahamians should be ashamed of yourself.
