I, too, remember happy days sitting at Pete's Pub with feet buried in the sand and enjoying fellowship with other travellers along with his signature fish burgers cooked under shade of a palm leaf roof! It was hard to return to "civilisation". Will this be yet another example of greed devouring good sense to display to our countrymen? Then, all we shall hear is, "I didn't know!" Pray good sense prevails before we lose another piece of our paradise!
Has everyone seen the VAT taxation on his/her credit card bill, bank statements, customs duty, utility and phone bills etc? VAT is not just for the food store or movies! We are being sucked dry!!
Besides being concerned about the colossal waste of money for carnival, there is greater concern about our young doctors not receiving payment for their valuable services! Who made this decision? Appalling!
Consider eliminating the forced gratuity. What an impressive point that would make to the guests! The workers would have to demonstrate what service looks like as they willingly and happily do their jobs. Do you think it would work in this country?
Sincere condolences to the family and friends. This is the most tragic incident ever. We need to honour the memory of this gentleman in some special way.
Sincere condolences to all the family and friends! This is a terrible shock for the island of Grand Bahama and the nation. Can't believe it. God rest their souls.
Deepest condolences to the family and friends. I recall seeing that the PLP had the solutions to the crime problems during their campaign for election. Did they lose the paperwork? Things are worst now! How do you eat an elephant? Answer: bit by bit. We need to see the step-by-step strategy to coping with the situation. The battle will never be won, only managed. Why? New militants are born daily. But let's do something now. I saw Bernard Nottage on television last night offering excuses for the situation! I was flabbergasted. Is there a strong leader somewhere in the country? Please come forward quickly.
