The Bahamas is trying to establish itself as a centre for arbitration. Why are the parties not utilizing experts in the field for mediation? Government cannot be seen as biased or throwing its horse in the race! This situation must be resolved equitably.
The time has come to eliminate the surreys from the streets! Modern life and traffic cannot accommodate them now especially during business hours. Perhaps evening rides on designated routes? In any case, these poor horses cannot continue. It is cruel to use them this way...heat, pollution, traffic, minimal care, over loading, add up to cruelty! Poor reflection on The Bahamas.
Another suggestion is to contact the Cancer Society in Nassau and ask them to help. These people are committed individuals and sincerely interested in helping people. Good luck!
Please try to see the doctors in GB first to request their help to see the specialists in Nassau. Your husband should not have to suffer like this! Prayers and Blessings.
Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the doctor. Such a terrible happening. And now the peace and beauty of this idyllic island are shattered! Few people lock their doors there. They respect each other's property and the environment; they are hard-working and generous. I can't believe something so horrific like this could occur there. Mrs Butler is right to fear negative effects. We shall all be affected without a doubt.
The GB community is most saddened by the loss of a truly committed and hard-working teacher. Sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. May she rest in peace.
Why are you charged VAT on items NOT purchased here?? And I, too, object to the double-dipping of taking VAT on top of customs duty! What is going on? Will no one look after the people? We are being sucked dry.
Most informative! This NHI scheme will become another cash cow/cookie jar, with the highest admin costs ever and the fewest dollars being put into the health system itself. Watch as nothing changes regarding infrastructure, etc because "there isn't enough money" ! Then, "We need to increase the contributions so we can provide the quality care you deserve." Heaven help us! We are poised at the peak of a slippery slope.
Our little country cannot afford NHI, period! We lack the infrastructure to deal with hundreds/thousands of customers on a daily basis, for one. No one will have the patience to wait on a list for weeks to get an appointment as happens in UK and Canada, for example. The meds won't be available when needed, making for great dissatisfaction. There will be high expectations and low reality checks. Better to use some of the money from the Numbers taxes to upgrade health clinics now. Work on limiting expenditure first and get a handle on managing National Budget before adding more problems.
