They don't know yet how it will be funded?? Do they know how the scheme works? We the people certainly don't! Gomez seems in a daze. Don't you think the people should know by now the full proposal and its potential effects on the country? We need dialogue, not another costly scheme. People are treading water at the moment!
When the news takes a backseat, interest lessens! Whatever was not done in the first few weeks, will take ages to do. Hats off to the people who have started their own recovery efforts. Keep up with the work that you can do, then start asking for specifics to help you. If you sit and wait, you will sit and wait! God bless.
John's suggestions are right on the mark! As long as debris remains in place and view, the people will remain depressed and feeling lost. Hire people to clear the spaces and dispose of the waste. This is the first stage in getting back to normal. No doubt it will be a challenging situation, but it will encourage residents. We in GB have had our trials so I speak from experience! My heart breaks seeing those elderly people just sitting and waiting and hearing the sad stories. Clean up as quickly as possible so life can move on.
Amazing to read that they would do nothing differently! The comment translates into "We did everything perfectly!" !! Hope they sit down to the "Post Mortem" soon to update the plans and strategies for future catastrophic events. Unbelievable!
Thank goodness! Everyone must remember to send relief donations of food, water and so on to these people while they are in Nassau! They are still in need. The volunteers must set up a system to distribute donations to all the evacuees. God bless!
Has anyone ever seen or heard about a Written Strategy compiled by NEMA as a step-by-step guide to deal with catastrophic events? As soon as you hear/know Hurricane season is here, you open the book to the first page to begin work on Step One! In the off-season, periodic training is scheduled to test readiness. Every citizen should be aware of what the procedures are...just in case. After all these years in operation with new buildings, t-shirts and talk, they still have to go looking for ways to get things done! Honestly, can't we get things right the first time? Thank God for caring people, family and friends, including the US and Great Britain. Not even satellite phones working in every island?? Not even constant warnings about the severe impending dangers?? Any Evacuation Plans for the far-off islands?? Thank you, Lord, for sparing lives!
Well done! Lifts the spirit while waiting at the traffic lights. Happily, Sheldon is earning money because things are not going well for the majority of workers. Hope the Port will try to get the owners of these buildings to be responsible for the properties.
In my opinion, a minister of the government has the obligation to hold the personal view for private discussions with colleagues and friends but speak only to the policies of the government in the public arena when necessary. This takes a whole lot of discipline to refrain from the petty, personal confrontations with citizens but maintains the admirable stature of the diplomat.
Finally! Some sensible actions being posted. Let's get this mediation going and out of the public domain so resolutions can be reached. Boys and girls, this is important!
Agreed, but GBI must have first draw on the funds they contribute. What about the schools, hospital, clinics, roads in the settlements. Would love to see a report on how our contributions are spent, but won' t hold my breath!
