@moncurcool, yes, we LOVE drama! It's sometimes sickening. As for Mr. Roberts, if you weren't charging for the bags in the past, then what is the problem? Either way you are losing.
You bought the bags in the past and didn't charge for them, you are buying them now and are charging for them and few people are buying them......I don't get your complaint. You wouldn't have made money off the bags regardless.
I don't blame the good Doctor! Stay focused on what is important, that is, the future of our society and making it better. With our people, it's **damn if you do and damn if you don't!**
Elections, come and go, Bahamians will vote you out and vote you in. IF you are greasing their pockets then you will live long, but if you are trying to make lives better for all, and forcing them to be accountable, then you will be short lived. My advice is to do what is right for all while you are there. If they kick you off the scene so be it!
**Patients, loved ones and Bahamians generally are losing confidence in the PHA," he said.**
They get the service that they pay for and since a good number of Bahamians feel entitled to everything **free,** they get the service that free gives them!
We need to start collecting fees for the services offered at our public health facilities. The revenue can then be used for the maintenance and upkeep of our healthcare facilities. People are expecting the government to work miracles with the little revenue that they collect. ****Newsflash......it takes a great deal of money to keep our facilities going!*****
Wow, our society is really in a bad state of decline! Why is it so hard for people to follow the rule of law. These people will end up being the same ones to hit and kill some innocent person. At that point, what will be the consequence for them illegally being allowed to be on the road......just sad!
In addition to everything mentioned by Dr. Sands, we also need people to pay for services and stop expecting everything to be free! The money earned would assist in the upkeep, maintenance and overall run of the hospital!
.........and my fellow Bahamians have the heart to get upset when the police put a "cut hip" on these boys' behind! They need discipline and are wreaking harvoc on our streets! Parents are doing a poor job of raising these children. What a sad commentary.....stabbing each other!!
Yup, we get what we have given! I have to agree with Commissioner on this one. We have become a dishonest society and we are raising dishonest young people. Good luck!
