**It is difficult for people living below the poverty line to pay for birth control pills and other methods of preventing unwanted pregnancies in addition to other financial responsibilities.**
That is an absolute false narrative! People who are unable to afford contraceptives, can visit any community clinic and get them free of charge. Our people are just lazy and irresponsible. Women/girls, should not be allowed to abort an innocent life just because they choose to be irresponsible! Give the child up for adoption if you are not in a place to take care of him/her, but to just keep having children only to be allowed to abort them is unacceptable!
@madhatter, I'm shocked to read Darville's response. He of all people should understand why the 25 cents is being charged. These people talk out of the two sides of their mouths.
In any event, sometimes you have to hit Bahamians where it hurts to get them to understand!
@moncurcool, I really don't get what they are crying about. For almost a year they were told this was coming. Either you bring your bags or pay 25 cents for each bag you use. What are they going to do once the bags are no longer offered. Lord, my people "does make me tired"!!
Agreed, @Minister Romi. The plastic ban is the right thing to do. Once we have gotten our people used to the concept, introduce recycling. Teach them to separate their garbage for the purpose of recycling. Introduce the blue garbage bins. We have to do our part as a nation toward maintaining our planet.
Built by foreign hands or Bahamian hands, I am quite sure the people of Ragged Island are happy for the progress, they are one step closer to regaining a sense of normalcy.
Thank you Samaritan's Purse! We appreciate your generosity toward us. After seeing the great help that they were offering to the Bahamian people, I was happy to visit their website and donate.
I encourage my fellow Bahamians, if you are able to, visit them at www.samaritanspurse.org . You can be assured that your donation will be used for its intended purpose!
This woman is a loud mouth idiot! If there is such a teacher shortage, she should get off her high horse and start teaching! After all, she is a trained PE teacher isnt she?
@well_mudda, this is one time, I have to say, I agree with you! These jokers should really be doing hard time! No where else in the first world would they be allowed to walk around unscathed!!
