Geez, this woman just won't go away! Can't stand these union leaders, mostly greedy, power hungry and unreasonable. I guess the country should sit back and expect more drama.
Man hush your mouth and go sit down and while you are doing that, tell the members of these unions you represent, go do some work while they are on the man's job!
Wow, I can't believe that I actually agree with Brave on this one!
If the government is saying that they are retiring police officers who have reached the maximum amount of years allowed or age, then most certainly it should apply in the judicial sector and all across the rest of the civil service. There has to be consistency!
I am a firm believer that if you have served your time, step aside and allow someone else to do the job.
Mr. Turnquest, hearing this is like taking in a breath of fresh air! Now, **to break the cycle of dependence on government” by empowering Bahamians to take control of their own lives and destinies,** is going to be a challenge. Good luck trying to change the Bahamian mindset. I think you better start with the children because there ain't no change for mama and papa dem!
This is the one time I can say that I miss Fred Mitchell as Minister of Immigration! Many think citizenship should be given out like candy, but it should not. It should only be given after careful consideration of the documents and **FACTS** presented. Those documents need to be the original or certified true copies. There are too many who try to defraud the government in order to obtain Bahamian citizenship.
If people are eligible, I agree that they should be processed in a reasonable time after application, but they should not be allowed to sue the government especially if they are not born to at least one Bahamian parent!
