Malcolm Strachan, this is an honest assessment of the situation that we have here in our country. Thank you for expressing it so clearly. I agree with every single word that you have written! We really need a change in our mindset. How can we possible grow as a nation if we continue to limit ourselves with these issues.

Unfortunately, as @realfreethinker has expressed, the people who should read this article, will not but will continue to spread silly narratives.

Boy you people are so negative. You are part of the reason that there is so much division in this country. Can you not post one positive thing about the Bahamas? We are celebrating independence as a nation. For the love of God and all things good, shut up, and find something positive to say!

geostorm says...

I really feel sorry for my fellow Bahamians. We waste so much time on trivial matters and not enough on sensible discussion to move our country forward. Why all this talk of race? Why are we fighting against each other? It is all so silly! We need to focus on building our nation and taking it to first world standards and stop putting ourselves back. Gosh I wish we would just get it together. A nation divided can not be successful!

Congratulations young lady, you make me proud!

@empowerment, I say this all the time. There will be no real change as long as the midset of the general population and many of our leaders remain the same.

Agreed @jus2cents! Unfortunately, no matter what you say, people will continue to listen to nonsense and write a false narrative! Well done Mr. Symonette!

Yes, please fix this issue. It's ridiculous that renewing a Bahamian passport is so tedious. In addition to this, there should be an appointment system, similar to the way the US Embassy works. As for pick ups, include a delivery fee in the overall cost. Ship the passports to an off site location. People do this all the time when applying for US visas, use that same concept. Come on Mr. Minister, get this right! It's not rocket science!

Totally agree with Dr. Sands, there was no reason for such hurtful comments. We need to be better as a people.
