Agreed, the government needs to get a hold on what is going on with BPL. For the life of me, why are we not using solar power? We are spending money on equipment when we can invest in solar energy. Goodness, collaborate with other countries who are successfully using this form of energy and follow suit. All of this sun we have around us, why are we not there yet?
As for Mr. Mitchell, please have several seats. What did your government do to improve the situation at BPL? We are at this place now because of your government's failure to improve BPL. We, the Bahamian people do not want to hear from you!
Apology accepted because she is young and misguided; however, I am happy that the Miss Bahamas Organization made the right decision. If you are not **PROUD** to be a Bahamian, you have no business representing us. I am sure that there are many people in similar situations to her who regard themselves as Bahamians and are grateful to this nation They would happily show their patriotism!
Sorry Bishop! There are far more issues of greater importance than medicinal marijuana! There is the need to get Freeport running economically, the saga at BPL, the takeover by Haitians in the shanty town court battle, the completion of school repairs, the number houses and their court case, the battle of the State vs Frank Smith.......should I go one? Take a number!
Bulldoze the heck out of those homes! Get it done and done effectively! This is a developed country with standards of living that are just as good as first world countries. I don't care who lives in those shanty town homes, bulldoze them for the sake of all of us!
For the life of me, why doesn't this man just keep his mouth closed!
As for the future of electricity, if we are not looking to solar power, we are wasting our time and resources. For goodness sake, can someone please come up with a plan for BPL to run off solar energy and present it to this government?
**"I think we were all wrong about the amount of bread basket items we're selling," Mr Roberts told Tribune Business. "Definitely the Retail Grocers Association (RGA), of which I'm secretary, we're wrong.**
So glad that Mr. Roberts was big enough to admit that they were wrong about the VAT increase. Now just hope the rest of the country can allow the government to do it's job and stop being so overly critical. It took the previous government 10 years to mess up the economy, we should at least give the current administration an opportunity to fix it.
@Bogart, that's why our Bahamian society is in a state of moral decay. Children are being allowed to disrespect authority and then we have people turn around and say.... their "rights" have been violated. Well if you don't want your child's "rights" to be violated, then keep them at home and teach them respect and discipline! No child should be allowed to disrespect a teacher under any circumstance.
What message does that send? The majority of teachers sacrifice so much to teach these children, many of whom come from broken homes and lack basic social skills. Teaching is not an easy task and for some group( Rights Bahamas) filled with foreign nationals to talk nonsense, is a slap in the face of our teachers!
Put him out of school, somewhere he can learn discipline and respect! Mr Jeff Lloyd you all are walking on thin ice, thread carefully!
Yes @joeblow, you are correct on this one. What a sad state of affairs this is! What is making learning so difficult for our children? If we don't get a handle on this, we will have a really hard time getting this country to move in the right direction. It takes an educated and engaged populace to push the country in the right direction.
