Mr. Bus driver, you are still able to make a few dollars. Count it a blessing and close your mouth. Everything takes time. You certainly do not want to pack people in a bus like sardines for a few extra dollars, only to have people end up sick. Let's think about the wellbeing our people and not the almighty dollar.
My hope for the Bahamas is that we would 1. Overcome the economic challenges brought on by Dorian and Covid-19. 2. Implement some form of national service, to empower our young men and women to become more productive citizens. 3. Reduce the amount of crime and antisocial behavior. 4. Improve our level of service and advances in technology. 5. Re-ignite our hope in ourselves as Bahamians and our ability to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. 6. Have a renewed commitment and faith in God. 7. Have a changed mindset, one similar to our grandparents before us who were committed to hard work and a spirit of pride and excellence.
Happy Independence Bahamas. I love this land, the greatest little land on earth. May God bless you!!!
Ms, please go sit down. You union leaders love trying to take advantage of the government! An internship is just that........ an internship. The government is under no obligation to hire anyone on an internship. The purpose of an internship is to help those on it to gain the neccesary skills so that they qualify for the conditions of their degree/work. Furthermore, if they missed 2 weeks of their internship they need to put in the two weeks so that they qualify.
Once they meet the requirements of their internship, they are free to find work elsewhere. That's how it works all across the private sector. So the union needs to stop with all of this b.s.!
