I live in Freeport and the heading of this article, "Marchers take to the streets of Freeport" is confusing. If this is correct and they marched from The Chamber of Commerce to the Harold de'Gregory Building, this is only about half a mile down one street.
What the "NO VOTE" group needs to do, is go back and pull out every comment, ad and TV interview by the PLP from the last gender equality referendum, and blast it over the airwaves and take out full ads in the news papers. Let their own words defeat them.
“....to protect his integrity....." What integrity? This from the joker who sat quietly by while his constituency was contaminated by an oil spill that endangered the lives of the good Bahamian people of Marathon. And all because he didn't want to lose his good Cabinet (government) job. What about those people losing their LIVES?? I'm sorry but the word "integrity" should not proceed from your lips, and that of Madam Attorney General, again.
Who is this that has so much to say about the referendum? Isn't this the same person who is refusing to speak on the circumstances into the delayed Rubis review that affected the health of good citizens of Marathon? Hmmmmm!
John, my sentiments exactly. Wasn't the Constitutional Education Commission with Rubie Nottage and others traipsing all over the Bahamas for the more than a year informing and educating the electorate? Didn't think this group was doing a good enough job? Why did they still have to set up a "Yes Bahamas" committee and spend more of the people's money? They are really trying to stack the odds in their favour. The two horses in the 2-horse race are theirs.
Why is there a need for the government to establish a "Vote Yes" group and fund them anyhow? Don't we already have the Constitutional Education Commission going from island to island that is also being funded by the government? How many horses do they want in this race?
Sweet girl, I find this letter very offensive. You keep calling Bahamian citizens who have a right to their opinion even though it may differ from yours: arrogant, paranoid, homophobic, obsessive, myopic, and unreasonable. We will show you at the polls come June 7, 2016!
jackbenimble, seems like you have a very valid concern. I have just recently been made aware that the cabinet is also the Citizenship Board and that all decisions rest with them when it comes to deciding on citizenship applications. Hmmm.
