The fact that a bunch of ratbags can run around America burning their own flags (unfortunately) is a testament to freedom that people in China can only fantasize about. And that's their own people. If the government hands over any more of our sovereignty away to the guys for cheap loans, they will be coming for us ratbags next

what these dolt politicians don't ever do is actually think this stuff through. So what happens if 5,00o tourists pile into Bahamar and 10% of them decide they are not going to stay cooped up on the property for two weeks. Are we going to end up like Australia with angry cops wrestling them to the ground and arresting them while being recorded on Facebook. Oh better yet. Lets put 10-0 high barbed wire fences around the hotel with machine-gun posts. Perhaps Stuart Cove could bring a bunch of sharks around to Cable Beach to attack anyone that tries to swim off the property. At some point in history, all of you human beings living in fear are going to have to decide whether you want to stay locked down without an economy forever, or whether you are going to wake up to the fact that you need to get on with your life because this virus is never going to be 100% gone. You have the big politically connected monopolies beating you over the head, the small-time unregulated and unlicensed guys clawing at your feet and the government kicking you in the guts all day. And once you get tired of swimming against all those currents, your bank manager will humiliate you and your staff will call the labor board to come finish you off

My best guess is that after receiving the second IMF bailout, it was pointed out to the PM that there are strings attached. Devaluing the local currency, reducing the size of the civil service, balancing the budget with less spending and higher taxes, unloading loss-making public corporations, deregulating our domestic tariffs and 'protectionist' regimes = giving unfettered foreign access to our economy. All of these are hallmarks of an IMF intervention in a financial crisis. The FNM talking about approving all foreign investment projects is merely political spin for "we have no choice in the matter". They have handed our sovereignty over to an economic hitman

I said this long ago. The PM could have made a stand against this pandemic. Educated the public on how to protect the vulnerable and kept the economy going on as many cylinders as possible. Instead, he took the bait. He chose fear and total lockdowns which played right into the hands of the new world order. Ruin your economy and get bailed out by the people who encouraged you to ruin your economy. A little naive to think that if you play by their rules - you wont have to live by their rules. Or maybe that's what he wanted all along - reset the economy and blame it on a virus ?

so you want to give our cops full discretion on who can do what after curfew. No thanks. How about we end the ridiculous curfews and get on with our normal democratic freedoms instead of giving a bunch of ignorant politicians more power

As for the Bahamas. The only plan here is to lock down and borrow more money and hope that some external factor changes that will magically make everything normal again. Good luck everyone. We have Uncle Sam to the West and China to the East and we are going to be one or the other of them's beach by the time this is all over .....

so tired of people downplaying the success of Sweden. They had no lockdowns !! Think about that. Their death rates and their economy is similar to everywhere else. Yes you can argue that this one was less or this one was higher but they never had any lockdowns and they never had any stress on their so-called better healthcare systems and they have now reached herd immunity so they do not need to put up with any lockdowns ever again. How on earth could you argue against this ???
