LOL. None of them can initiate anything on the Prevention of Bribery Act because once they all start pointing fingers at each other, the country would run out of politicians because they all be lock up

I ain't taking a thing that come out of Minnis mouth serious until he puts his hand on the bible and says "freedom of information act". You hear me Minnis. You just part of the same old circus wasting our air 'talking' about this crap. Until somebody stands up for the rights of the people, you's a minus.

What ACP Dean is saying is install bars on your windows and doors and don't leave your house for anything, at least until the government has figured out a more imaginative way to downplay armed holdups in broad daylight

BTW government and legal system providers. The guys with the guns have figured out that they can threaten the witnesses and walk. Got any good ideas or shall we all keep pretending things are gonna work out ?

the point everyone is missing is that the General Contractor is completely liable for the damage. The usual contractors all risk is imposed on a contractor to avoid them having financial crisis in exactly this kind of circumstances. If he has failed to insure himself, then he has to pay out of his own pocket.

No doubt the contractors partners are PEP's which will lead to a whole other reality these days

only problem is that if they create a fund, the politico's will find a way to steal from that too

How about another weekly suitcase of cash from the numbers boys...very compelling !?

It is called 'capital flight'. When investment risk and corruption gets out of control, the legitimate wealth moves to another jurisdiction which in turn feeds further in to a downward economic cycle. The next step is dirty money moves in to fill the economic gap aka numbers boys.

This is why the Bahamas is still in a recession and the government is raising taxes with no wage increases in sight. Anyone that was around in the 70's and 80's would have seen this whole cycle play out with the drug boys

is like a 25 year step backwards for the country with both the FNM and PLP waiving their hands in the air

Give me an independent donkey with no tail that says FOI and it's got my vote

What none of you get is that the entire reason for inclusive pricing is to steer public anger of increased costs toward the vendors and away from the government.

There is absolutely no other reason. Most Bahamian POS systems were built for the US market where a simple click of the button allows for the introduction of an exclusive end point tax that can issue a detailed tax report at the end of each day. To make it compulsory to be inclusive is an unnecessary burden on the vendors and nothing short of an outrageous PR stunt.
