I don't know if Dr.Rollins have been a good MP for his area. What I find interesting is that now that he left the PLP all of a sudden he is not a good MP. I suppose if he was bowing to the wishes of the "old guard" he would have been a great representative. And by the way what do they mean by good representation? The one that Centerville and Bain Town gets?
Baha Mar employees may not get paid. Even if the project finishes, and I really hope it will,it may hire 5,000 people if successful. In the meantime 5,000-6,000 kids are coming out of school each year, most of them poorly educated, thanks to our politicians. The government has increased taxes through VAT and makes it more difficult for small businesses to survive through taxes and regulations. And PC is talking about the success of Carnival, BAMSI and VAT.
PC obviously does not care if small/medium size businesses can afford thousands of dollars in accounting fees. Is not a problem for large businesses but for the small ones it would double the cost of renewing their licences. Also with VAT in place it would be much more difficult to underdeclare. But unfortunately this is not in the books of Perryconomics.
As I said don't be shy name everyone despite their political affiliation. I don't care which party they belong to. Just say who got loans and never paid them back
Despite his best efforts,he keeps reminding everyone that he has not yet taken a day off yet since he took office, unemployment keeps going up. Can you imagine what would have happened if he was taking vacations as well?
What PC needs to talk about is why BOB is at the state it is today. And please don't talk about hard economic times. Other banks including Commonwealth have been in the same economy and yet they are profitable. Who are the persons or companies that have taken loans from BOB and haven't paid them back? Are they politically connected? He also claims that Bahamas Resolve has "reaped millions already". Excellent, care to be a little more specific? How many "millions have been reaped" and by whom? And please don't be shy, name everyone that has not paid back his debt, it really does not matter if they are affiliated with the plp, fnm,dna or whatever
If movie prices are not price controlled what will he investigate? I don't know if the new price reflects only his increased costs or he decided to also increase the profit margin in the process. In any case only an idiot would truly believe that VAT would not bring inflation. The blame game has began
Exactly, if I am paying either for gratuity or tax I should know what am I paying for. And what happens if someone else decides tomorrow that he is not ready for VAT?
Come on now, according to the MOF "experts" there will be minimal or no inflation because of VAT. What financial sector shrinkage? You did not hear the news about Ryan's new job? As for the drop in tourism, don't worry. Perry has already talked to Cubans about "multi destination" tourism. Yes the Cubans would love to share their tourists with us.
Cuba may have massive economic impact,no kidding. So put more taxes on locals and tourists,so you make an expensive destination even more expensive. This is how you run a country.......to the ground.
