The writer seems to not understand that "he who pays the piper, calls the tune.". The IMF and the other global lending institutions are funded by the wealthy developed countries. Why would they put any one but one of their own in charge of the institution that they have developed. When countries who have have need to borrow money, either through a natural disaster, hurricane, or simply mismanagement of that county's economy, then they should expect to abide by the requisite criteria. If you or I approach a bank to obtain a mortgage to buy a house we do not tell the bank the terms of the loan but rather accept the terms offered or walk away. Our choice.
Not an advocate for FCP in any way at all and obviously infractions should be investigated if such are warranted, but am I the only Bahamian getting the feeling that this administration is waging an undeclared war on private businesses? Why is another question all together.
The Olympics were started long before Christianity was invented. The tableau in the opening of the Paris Olympics simply showed the Greek Gods of the original Olympians. Stop being so easily offended, not everything is about you and the beliefs you have chosen.

This wjole question of reparations as it relates to Bahamians is acyually more complex than it first appears.

All the millions of dollars of our taxpayers money that is spent keeping ZNS afloat each year, most all of it goes to pay for bloated number of staff and their large salaries, free medical insurance, and non-contributory pensions. Col. Oakley Bidwell would be truly shocked to see how hat he started has ended up.
