Wow, this does not bode well.for the future when the stress of governing really kicks in. Discomfort ptresumamily a euphemism for falling out. Diabetes perhaps?
The most interesting appointment is Ryan Pinder as Minister of Finance. The country has a very bad time ahead financially; is Pinder going to be the fall guy for the Bahamian dollar devaluation? The PLP has a history of blaming an ethnic group for all ills. Just as interesting is why Pinder left the highly paid banking job that he left the Christie cabinet to take instead.
The only real question is whether the next elected administration introduces Income Tax, Death Duties; also called Estate Tax because it sounds nicer, or both of the above. i ncome Tax is more complex and will require many many more State Employed Workers but will give the government huge power of knowledge of what the citizens are earning. estate Tax is easier to administer and will more effectively redistribute wealth. The political elite may not want anyone to know about their unusually earned income though.
Hi Dawes, thank you for reading my comment and taking the time to post a response. Why , though, would President Biden change the terms that the US government had agreed upon when Trump was in The White House? Most all Americans wanted to get out. The Taliban agreed to let them without attacking them providing that they did so by August 31st. This is what happened with no loss of US military lives. Surely this is a good thing? Unless your view has been warped from watching Foxy Views.
This columnist once again shows his perchance to side with the right wind republicans as espoused by Fox News and the like. Mr. Trump signed the agreement with the Taliban in February 2020 to remove American troops from Afghanistan by August 31st, President Biden successfully kept the American side of that agreement and prevented prolonging this unwinnable war started by George Bush, a man who avoided military service just like Trump, Trump' father and grandfather did too
RCL have the experience and the financial resources to make this project a success, creating many jobs. The money for this development will also likely come from outside the country which will leave more internal monetory reserves for other projects.
