The action of the Immigration Department officer as described in the court transcript is heinous. Is this the type of monsters that we have lurking in The State Security forces. This report is very disturbing

mr. Evans is at it again, expressing his, to my mind at least, bigoted far right "Christian" views. The world and nature are not as simple as he thinks; some humans are male, some are female, and some are hermaphrodite. All must have been created by The Almighty so how do the hermaphrodites fit into Mr. Evans's rather narrow view I wonder?

I was going to say something about pots and kettles but decided not as it could have been misconstrued in these days of political correctness. How many shingles is a Cabinet minister paid per month now anyway?

What could possibly motivate this Pindling family member to want to enter politics? Her late father died extremely wealthy; her mother is likewise by all indications. She is presumably earning a very good income as a partner in a top tier Bahamian law firm. I do not believe it is normal for people to enter politics as a way to serve the people of this country despite each and every candidate so proclaiming, with a straight face too. I suspect she has reached the age where she has achieved goals and finds her life still empty and meaningless. How to fill the void? Become a respected, beloved leader of the people. It will be interesting to see if she succeeds.

wow. trianon, I sincerely hope that you are wrong. I have no love for the numbers racket and I believe at least one of the numbers boys is attempting to legitimize himself through gaining political office, but surely no one would sink so low as to compromise our children's donated tablets? Surely? Please?

This is so sad. The families of those killed in this traffic accident will be irrevocably changed. In Sweden it costs tens of thousands of dollars (Krona) and years of instruction and practice to gain a driving license. Sweden has some of the most challenging weather conditions in which tom drive, despite this the country has one of the lowest traffic accident rates per capita of any country in the world. In the Bahamas for many years it would cost fifty dollars and a corrupt RTA contact. Is there a connection? Condoloncies to the families.

A silly proposal from a professional politician who is divorced from the reality of private business. If it was that simple a solution then it would have happened already. Due to the onerous burden of government imposed taxes and regulations it is very hard to run a profitable business in this country. Numbers and churches excepted of course.

The degree of ignorance demonstrated by this letter writer with regards to Hinduism is extreme but not surprising judging from the far right conservative Christian views manifested in many of the other letters that Mr. Dean has seen fit to submit for publication. We live in a world where bigotry, intolerance, and hatred are more usually expressed than religious tolerance, love of our fellow man, and a broad minded approach to understanding that the world has room enough for views which do not match our own. Many Christians make the fundamental error of believing that God is, like they are, a Christian. Many Muslims likewise erroneously believe that God is a Muslim. Likewise, many Buddhist believe that God is a Buddhist. Just like Mr. Evans; they are all trying to limited and set boundaries to That which is far beyond such limitations. I wonder if Mr. Evans is cognizant of the fact the HMS Queen Elizabeth, the latest Royal Navy Aircraft Carrier has a vast length of rope aboard made from hemp? Does this make the British navy into a Hindu navy? This letter is just sad in my opinion.

These are the real Bahamian heroes worthy of our respect, not the politicos, cronies, and churchmen that seem to appear on the lists of Bahamian National Heroes.
