Every year since the first majority rule government got into power the Bahamas government has borrowed money to subsidize it's budget deficit. The government has for half a century spent more than it has earned. Stafford Sands was a brilliant minister of finance; every minister of finance since him has only driven the country deeper into debt. Hon. A. D. Hanna did not seem to have personally enriched himself for which he should be remembered with some credit even if his policy of borrowing as much as possible was disastrous, as was his Bahamianization program which gutted the ministry of Education of the excellent expatriate teaching staff the country had enjoyed so many of until that time.

This country did well economically until the UBP gave Bahamian women the right to vote. Since shortly after that time we have deficit budgets every single year with an ever growing and unsustainable national, debt. Minister Lloyd is considering going back to single gender schools. Perhaps the country needs to go back to; one man, one vote system that was so successful. The Bahamian women have already voted in a referendum that they think that they are subservient to me so this is the next logical step.

My wife and I have 4 grown children who have 7 college degrees between them, including a PhD in chemistry. None of our children were ever spanked, smacked, or physically punished. You do not need corporal punishment to successfully raise a child. Corporal punishment is inflicted by bullying parents who are ignorant of other more effective ways of disciplining their offspring. It should be made illegal in this country like it is in many civilized countries, including most recently; Scotland. And the Scots have a reputation for being among the toughest people in the world.

If this video is true then It is just so sad that monsters like these have such absolute power over the most vulnerable children in our country. I know exactly how I would like to see these staff members punished for their egregious action, I will not share the details of how, but it would be a very public event.

I think that this comment by the Commissioner and his subsequent blaming of a journalist for causing him to make it perfectly illustrates the level and quality that can be expected from the State's Security Forces.

This columnist has just got so ridiculous. How can any reasonably informed person still believe the lies of America's Far Right that the election was rigged to steal the Presidency from Donald? Has he been watching Foxed Views again?

The man or woman using the title godpe'ed is obviously s little deranged. Dianne Phillips has called it right in her column.

So does UB select the best available candidate for the position or the best available Bahamian candidate? Consider; 400,000 Bahamians to choose from, 8 billion other citizens of other countries to choose from. Hmmm.....

The comments certainly did escalate fast I agree. The Amerikan Far Right successfully brainwashed millions using clever misinformation on social media and totally biased news media channels like Fox. Many are filled with an irrational rage and miadirected hate of any who do not share their views .The belief of the Trumpanzees is deep and unshakable; as is the case with any cult and its leader of brainwashed cult members. These misguided people need our compassion and we hope they can recover a normal intellect.
