Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? In this case it would appear that custodes ipsos custodes? This begs the question of whether the public will have trust in the inevitable result of the allegations being found to have no merit?

Russia must be investing huge amounts of money supporting and promoting extreme right wing political .parties in the EU. Russia successfully coerced the British electorate to, narrowly, vote to leave the EU. Russia does not want a united European opposition to its expansionist plans. The country is very active on social media spreading its nationalist rhetoric and some people just believe it all. Sad. Sigh.

If you ask a mason to build a house then he will build that house using blocks. If you ask a carpenter to build a house then he will build that house using wood. If you ask a man whose profession revolves around using firearms to head up a tax collection entity then perhaps we should not be surprised that he uses firearms to do so. Sigh...

No much is as disabled as the the Persons with Disabilities Act, a law passed in 2014 . The enforecement is just lame.

PoorW, you have posted a not inaccurate but unusual perspective. While the the USA does have a lower per capita murder rate then the Bahamas, we must also recognize that the Bahamas has almost the highest murder rate of any country in the world. Guns do make murder much easier and the murder rate of the USA is much higher than most other countries. Pinder may well be following Mexico's lead in this matter.

As it happens I know these people and the background, I find their story very believable but they, and we, the public, will sadly probably never know the name of the police person or police persons who saw fit to steal the money saved up for a life saving surgical operation. This is a sad reflection on the level of integrity to be expected from the Police Force, I am considering writing to our King Charles to have him rescind the Royal Charter granted to this state security force; I do not think that they deserve any longer. Perhaps we should be grateful that Mr. and Mrs. Deveaux did not own a pet dog to be killed by one of these armed and dangerous policepersons.

There is a huge difference in the effects on our society between the hotel casino and the Bahamian owned gambling houses. Both businesses make large profits by taking money from their gambling patrons; the difference is that the hotel casinos, while employing many Bahamians do not, by law, take any money from Bahamian citizens or residents, there is no adverse effect on the finances of locals. Conversely the local gambling houses do take money from the Bahamian citizens Most if not all of their money comes from locals. This may lead to financial distress to those who become addicted.

And in strange coincidence the country has an election pending. Some may recall the adverse publicity surrounding the then incumbent government's use of the state owned airline to campaign . There will be no oversight on the use of this particular government owned aircraft by government ministers and election campaigners, or so it would seem based on past performance of the individuals concerned.
