I have occasionally wondered how this columnist would have written about Sir Oswald Mosely in the 1930's, if he had been writing his column during those times; might he have supported Mosely's views on immigration from Europe perhaps?
Hi unrealthinker; this matter is not yet before the courts, as such no media house can be charged with anything short of libel; also you cannot libel someone who has shuffled off this mortal plain. You're welcome. Follow me more more useful info.....sigh....

If your figure of 134 is correct then gives a rate of just over 38 per 100,000 population. This would make us the 9th most murderous country in the world just after Haiti, if using the Bah 2024 figure with statistics for 2023from other countries.
And what is interesting, Bidrie, is the more religious a country is that; the higher the murder rate is. Conversely those countries with very low rates of church attendance also have the lowest rates of murder. Why? Possible to do with the ability of women to control their bodies, or not as the case may be.
The average rate of murder per 100,000 population is 6.3. Last year the rate in our country was 30 per 100,000; which is amongst the highest of any country. The Bahamas also has one of the highest number of police officers per capita of any country in the world. Hiring more police or creating yet more expensive deputy police commissioners is probably not the answer to the crisis that we are suffering. As others have pointed the broken justice system is probably part of the problem. Bermuda shares some common colonial history with the Bahamas; the murder rate there is a fraction of ours; what are they doing that we could emulate?
