Religion is the opiate of the people. Religious organizations in this country are completely unregulated. Anyone can start a church and begin soliciting weekly tithes. It is time that this large sector of our economy was not only regulated but also taxed. Surely the Christian Council will agree that it is only fair to give Caesar his renderings,
Yes?

Bootlegging in the Bahamas, as I understand it, consisted of buying liquor in Nassau and then taking it up to "Rum Row" outside the 12 mile territorial waters of the US where it was sold to American citizens like Kennedy, who then broke US laws by smuggling that liquor into their country. . There was nothing illegal in what the Bahamian rum runners did.

I wonder if Mr. Bodie could share his thoughts on why The Good Lord Jesus Christ decided to save Sir Arthur but decided not to save the Hon. Chuck Virgil?

It is time to start the conversation about moving the Bahamas to someplace that has more elevation above sea level. Could we all contribute and purchase a couple of those Rocky Mountains from the State of Colorado? Surely they do need all of them...…..

The proposal that retired governor generals should get 24hr security is just plain silly. These people already receive large pensions that the tax payers are stuck with. Let them pay for their own security just like the rest of us would have to do if we wanted it. Being a governor general is aa position that requires no skill or academic qualification and you only have to work a few hours each week. It is a political appointment given by the PM for political service rendered. The sooner it is abolished the better as the position serves no purpose and achieves absolutely nothing now and never has in the past.

It is a sad commentary on the laws and mores of our country that this father was forced to break the law in order to try and get his daughter a chance to be educated and eventually get employed. The people who lack compassion and decency will probably be applauding this poor man being incarcerated with the murderers and rapists presently kept in the disgusting conditions of Fox hill Prison, although I understand it has a kinder gentler name now, same disgusting place though.

The Auditor General is one civil servant who is definitely worth his salary. It would be good if he could audit the RBPF firearms department which deals only in cash and hand written receipts.. A process just crying out to be abused.

People who quote Bible verses to support their position but eat bacon, lobster, or conch just make me laugh at the hypocrisy on display. There are even some pastors running churches who will eat these foods that the Bible quite clearly states are unclean and forbidden.
