When the US has a Democratic Administration then it seems that the Bahamas real estate businesses do better than when a Republican Administration is in power.
My understanding is that a former prime minister, and at his death, his surviving spouse, get a very very generous pension for the rest of their lives; as voted to the first majority rule prime minister by an overly sycophantic cabinet. There is a catch though; the pension is only awarded if the recipient holds the ice two or more times. The result is that one time holders of the of this elected office will almost always try to be elected again.

.Morley’s Mall is well alive, Thirty five years continues to strive, A testament to the man who by it was created. A preachers’ scion by most all well rated. During the years of the American Civil War The Bahamas became the originating port of the Blockade Runners who sailed ships laden with munitions and supplies into the Confederate States returning full of cotton and tobacco. The Union ships were unable to stop this trade. In the 1920's after Prohibition was enforced throughout the USA then many Bahamians made a good living running liquor up to Rum Row. The US Coastguard could not stop it. In the 1970's and 1980's many Bahamians got rich smuggling illegal narcotics into the USA. The DEA could not stop. The Bahamas has zero chance of stopping the smuggled importation of firearms from the USA and other Caribbean countries.
" Cabinet minister last night said “no formal decision” has been taken on Water & Sewerage Corporation proposals to increase consumer prices or impose taxes on homeowners with private wells." Translated from plp politician speak into everyday language that we can all understand; the price of water is definitely going to increase soon. And those homeowners who have been forced to drill a well because W&SC could not supply you in the past, we gonna tax you for not using our product. Sad.
Frederic has urges for the voters to sue; A political agenda that he has to pursue. From those days long ago as a scholarship boy, The prime minister’s job he wants to enjoy. But time and age always take a tole, Only rhetoric is left and empty hyperbole. Sad.
