The Gubmint should immediately hire every unemployed Bahamian and then there would be no unemployment. Also the minimum wage should rise to $3,000 per month. Then everyone could afford groceries. Also Price Control should lower the cost of gas to $1.50 per gallon. Now that was easy, wasn't it? All problems solved, except for how to fund it all. use nib funds perhaps?

Qatar, a country ruled by an unelected monarch with absolute power and no political opposition allowed. Female citizens of this country must be veiled when outside their homes. Public executions by beheading. I wonder what the chest of political cronies will learn to benefit the Bahamian people? Nothing good most probably.

The far right media in the USA has long opposed the WHO, an organization that has saved countless lives during it's existence . As far as I can ascertain the Far Right media in the USA has never saved any lives, on the contrary their unwavering support for the NRA and the gun lobby has resulted in thousands upon thousand of people dead, including over a thousand in the Bahamas over the past decade, killed by guns which most certainly originated in our large Northern neighbor.

i can only assume that that someone who writes a comment that in 700 years the sea level will rise by only 1.6mm listens to the US right wing media and the Russian controlled Social Media called Telegram. There is a huge amount of misinformation being generated by the PRC and Russia and some people are eager to believe it as it is a great reason to not act and not worry. Sad really.

This is a very professionally written letter, I believe they are known as puff pieces and are written to change for the better the public perception of the person paying the piper. The letter writer seems to totally ignore the fact that the numbers business was illegal for decades and only became a legal enterprise after Perry Christie took it upon himself to ignore the referendum on legalizing gambling that voted overwhelmingly to not make gambling legal. Perry also happily broke his own freely given promise that he would honour the results of that referendum and so sealed his place history for all time. Not a very good place either. Perhaps I am wrong in my understanding but I do not think you can amass a large fortune selling cigars on Bay Street.

It is very simple; the government either approve the price increases in these Breadbasket items or they do not. If they do not then the wholesalers cannot afford to import them, the retailers cannot afford to sell them at a loss and the items will disappear off of the grocery store shelves.
