the gubment saw that the election soon come; .And knowing that most all were dumb, They hired these persons to secure their vote; who cared 'bout the civil service bloat? who cares if they had nothing to do? No cares when you really haven't got a single clue? D minus is the way to live, When you can borrow what you give.
This rather prolific contributor to the letters columns of our local print media writes; "Famed American philosopher Dr Sam Harris once nonchalantly remarked that, if given a choice to get rid of either religion and rape, he wouldn’t hesitate to get rid of the former. Harris’ insensitive remarks would no doubt deeply offend rape victims at UB". I suspect that he is totally wrong in this assumption. Why would anyone who has been raped be offended by the idea that being raped is just a price worth paying for being able to belong to a religious sect. There are hundreds of minors abused by Christian church leaders who would also probably agree with philosopher's cited quote.

I suspect the only way forward in the short term that I can see is that we sell our fishing rights, probably to China. Marine resources being our major natural resource. Possibly also our sand.
Can these elected officials really be so ignorant of the workings of a market economy that they think that they can mandate a utility company to sell the electricity that they generate for less than the cost of generation? Now remind me how that worked out with water production in Eleuthera a year or two back?
