I agree Turtlepond. That's why the "qualified" Bahamian don't come home because the foreigners have eaten up all the best jobs. This is a very good incentive by this Government. It will force the private entities to do better.

Finally, I have something to like this Government for. This is long overdue! Go Fred!!!
Now we need to go higher up the chain. Unfortunately I don't think average Bahamians will be rushing to fill these vacancies (maids and gardeners) although on the other side of this, the illegal foreign element may finally be frustrated out of the country - we hope!

I do not agree with you, wachawant. It is not the FNM that sullied the word "referendum". It is the Government. The PM put his foot in his mouth from the word "go" when he said the Government has no horse in the race and then proceeded to advocate by his actions and words for a "yes" vote. When I hear the word "referendum" I now associate it with something stupid and senseless so if I were this present administration, I would stay away from holding any more referendums for a while. We are still reeling from the last one and the taste in our mouths is not very good at this time.

Perhaps he's pandering to the group for the cameras?

He got a call from the PM who promised to "investigate the matters personally".

Jesus would forgive and restore if the person genuinely repented. I'm sure you have heard the saying, "The gift and the calling of God are without repentance." I don't think God takes away our gifts and calling when we sin so in this case, I don't find it fair to judge. God is the one that he said called him into ministry and gave him the gift to preach his gospel. Further, noone knows if he has repented and what his relationship is with his master. If his congregants are prepared to accept him, again, who are we to judge?

I agree proudloud. Although I don't think the PLP's want HAI back its mostly the die-hard FNM's (you just need to check out the no spin zone on Facebook if you don't believe me) who can't face the music and accept that his time is up. Good leader but time for a change. And I also agree that if they run a bandit in the next election, that bandit will win if the present trend continues with this bunch!

I agree. Minnis is obviously a leader of a different kind and in my opinion the face of the new FNM and a welcome change. HAI did not pen these lines - some deluded fool did who cannot accept that HAi is OVER. This is a new era which Bahamians will likely welcome after this bunch is through screwing up our country - that is if we have a country in 4 years!

I agree. Although I believe internal forces (i.e the Min. of Foreign Affairs) has a strong hand in this as he is always quick to defend the PM and is the strongest advocate for this nonesense.!
