This whole situation saddens and concerns me. Like everything else politically that's wrong in this country, it will be ignored into oblivion. While the media is the watchdog for the U.S. politicians, who is ours? We are the only country I know where politicians can "do fool" and stay in office sucking off the fat of the taxpayers' money. They are rarely forced to step down or are held accountable. It speaks volumes of our intergrity as a nation. No wonder we can't control crime. The biggest criminals are at the top of the food chain!
I agree. Based on all I heard about NiB over the past few years, Mr. Cargill obviously cleaned up the mess that it was and almost single-handedly turned it around financially. People just hate discipline and change and are obviously on a mission to get him out. But you know what they say. You can't keep a good man down.
Seems to be the trend of late with murder trials. The accused always appear to get off due to insufficient evidence, etc. Someone is dropping the ball. The Prosecutor or the police. Whoever it is, the real criminals are getting away with "murder". I pray they find the real killer.
I agree with T.Russell. Its amazing how this gambling issue has now been watered down to just a referendum on legalising the more established 'webshops' which appears to be a direct kickback or payback to the webshop owners who purportedly financially supported both parties in their election campaigns. And how ironic that its happending so close to xmas when most of us get bonuses and can afford to spend a few extra dollars and no doubt will be more inclined to visit a webshop should the amendment to the law be passed before then. I smell a rat on this one!
Is is just me or does our Min. of Foreign Affairs always seem to be jumping on a plane to go meet to "discuss" a problem somewhere. Seems the focus is always on some foreign affairs issue and a little less on illegal immigration which is a far more pressing issue. I crave the hard-lined approach to illegal immigration that the past two ministers appeared to have. Perhaps Our PM should consider leaving him in in this post of "foreign affairs" and handing the Immigration matters to someone else who would actually appear to be dealing with them. We did not elect this Government to put Ministers in place who just seek to meet some personal agenda, look for photo ops with elite dignitaries and travel to conferences worldwide at every opportunity. Frankly, there are some that do not require discussion! It appears to be a repeat performace of his last term in office and if this Government is not careful there will be a repeat of their serving one term only.
It seems live every other day BTC is apologising for disruptions, dropped calls, or slow service. It's bad enough that we have poor service with our cell phones, but now if your land line is down it's taking weeks to get them to come and check it. I have only one question: Lord, when will this madness cease and the Bahamian people begin to get all that was promised on the hasty sale of BTC? Growing pains? I wonder.

Lol. Everyone may "know" but "knowing" and "hearing" (i.e. hearsay) don't hold up in a court of law.
