VERY true!!

And people continue to overlook the fact that even if he was in the country 'from birth to present' (and this is questionable) he NEVER made any effort to apply to get himself regularized. This case will be the make or break point of whether unregularised persons born to illegal parents can continue to do this. Again, I find it interesting that the learned QC continues to say the Government should adhere to the rule of law and not deny persons their constitutional right to reside and yet where the law says you should apply for citizenship at 18 and you fail to do so, THAT law should be completely overlooked "cuz you born here" and we cannot deport you. Tell me if I am missing something because I fail to see the sense in this.

I agree there’s something much bigger at play. If this nonsense goes through every anchor baby would be running around the Bahamas like they suddenly the shi*.! What kind of message are we sending? That you can run around our country without papers just because you’re born here and the Bahamas government cannot touch you? Give me a damned break!

This goes against the so-called rule of law that Freddy boy dem always piggy backing on

Hope this ruling is quickly overturned!!!

This is happening in Nassau as well. Banks are insisting that their customers obtain proof of payment of real property taxes to secure loans. In many cases the value of the home is below the $250,000 threshold and not subject to taxes but they must have pushed a special button for the new assessments because the value of homes in these cases have been inflated beyond the $250,000 mark and then back taxed with a penalty added for late fee or non-payment when the customer was not previously appraised.

Somebody is going crazy in the Department of Inland Revenue.

They need to deal with ALL islands not just Abaco.

So he's living in "hell" in the slums of Haiti.

I guarantee that come flag day his people will be front row and centre waving the flag and claiming how Haiti is all that a bag of chips. Here were have it from the horse's mouth.

They only feign allegiance. None of the suckers want to go back. Now ya know why!

I couldn't agree more. How is a 35-year old born to two illegal parents living in the Bahamas with no legal status? A right to apply is NOT a right to citizenship. When are these Haitians going to get that in their thick skulls?

Did he EVERY apply? And if he applies and is then denied. what will they do next? It's asinine!

And I also agree that many births are forged. Don't you find it interesting that the sloops always have young children on them. The suckers can't wait to throw them in the system and then claim "dey born here" couple years later no doubt with a bunch of fake affidavits.

This is foolishness on another level!

This Government allows itself to be dictated to by outside sources. That’s clear.

Marital rape was nowhere on the agenda. One fool shows up from the UN and everyone’s pantries are in a bunch. After issuing a press release to say it’s not on the agenda now suddenly the AG announces it’s on the front burner to be made law. Another idiot shows up talking about legalizing marijuana. That’s suddenly being considered. If you see the AG saying capital punishment will remain on the books I think the opposite is about to happen. This is the growing trend this this Government.

Just like the last administration the people’s agrnda is bring hijacked by outside interests. I just said wish we had a Government that would grow a pair because I’m beginning to think we only feign being sovereign!

jackbnimble says...

It stays but it’s not entrenched through constitutional reform so that it can be enforced without challenge. #jokeyguvnent

No shock here. I remain the doubting Thomas on all things immigration. No government has the wherewithal to deal and worse if you have courted the Haitian vote and put one in the Cabinet as payback.
