To my knowledge you can only park in a loading zone for up to 20 minutes. Unless it's a private home only the police are authorized to have cars towed. I work downtown and I've seen the police have cars towed from loading zones on Frederick and George Streets. Bay Steeet should be no exception.
Yes. He needs to be careful or he will go the way of Rollins and all the other upstarts - out into the political wilderness. .
Remember, this party has no place for young, forward-thinking minds. It's stuck in the past with Freddy and other old heads heading that crew that's determined to keep it locked there.
Cooper should look to cross the floor. He may last longer.
It's easy to make a promise when you're on the outside looking in an haven't a clue as to what is going on behind the scenes. Now that he's in, I guess reality is a little different. Not to mention if the former PM had any smarts about him (and I think despite the constant shuffling he did) he and the Chinese would have created an airtight sale that nobody could undo especially after hearing the threats that it would be undone if the FNM assumed office.
Kinda reminds me of the batelco sale. Christie promised to undo it and to date it ain't been undone.
Should be a lesson to all opposition parties. Stop making promises just to score political brownie points without any knowledge of the facts. And even if you make them, attach a caveat. Say, "We will review the deal and if anything fishy is found we will make every effort to have it undone".
I do believe PAC discovered the same situation in Nassau. A bunch of payments to contractors for work that was never done. Didn't they question Mother Pratt and Algernon Allen about it as well - and by the way, nothing came out of that.
Actually, even if China Bank owns it, 'they can't do a sale without Government approval. Remember, the Government still holds the trump card with granting approval or exemptions on any sale. Unfortunately, Christie played into the hands of China Bank to get the resort opened to secure votes. This Government can just frustrate the process although I doubt they will do it. That would look too bad.
The short answer is that this is what happens when you leave people in the chair too long. They get to know the system and then they delude themselves into thinking that they own the place. The American system is perfect. Too terms and azz out! Unfortunately we've tied ourselves into a system that allows our politicians to serve well past their expiration date. Every Prime Minister for the last 40 years had to be blown out of chair.
