I agree that we need to get rid of the Privy Council and only retain them for civic matters. Our Court of Appeal should be our final court with regard to criminal matters and if it takes a referendum to fix it then let just do that and be done with it instead of pussyfooting around.
First of all in order for the PLP to return the favor don't they have to win the government first?
Secondly they are threatening to prosecute the former FNM government which means the current one only has to remain uncorrupted and the fools will never see power for the next ten years.
You know, the buck has to stop somewhere with all this corruption. I'm glad Dr Minnis is cleaning house and if he puts the proper legislation and policies in place, even firing or prosecuting his current team, then we he would not only have secured his legacy but we'll really know that governance is no longer about corrupt politicians lining their pockets with taxpayers' dollars but we'll also know government is really about helping and advancing the people who put you in place. After all it's what you were hired for.
I say full speed ahead! If they stole our money then prosecute away. After all it's the people's time!!
Not to mention. I ran the strip a few weeks ago. The people manning the entrances were clearly bored. There was no traffic coming through. Also there's a video circulating on social media with Bahamian workers manning tables in the casinos with nobody there! This is bullsh*t!
I was about to make a similar comment. I ran down the beach after 8 the other morning. There were a handful of people on the chairs enjoying the sunrise. It literally looked like a ghost town. 50% occupancy my arse!
Politics was not a thankless task flyin'' Fred. We all know he used it to go to fly places some of us have never seen before and is still using it to stay relevant because he's the smartest one in the bunch and the only one who can save the party.
Man the former PM must be taking this election loss really hard. He looks terrible.
I have a major issue with the accolades he's putting on the late Doctor. I would like to know what advances Dr. Nottage made in National Security? I recall from the moment he got in the chair, he was dodging the press like nothing refusing to answer their questions about crime.... that is, when he wasn't sleeping. He hardly did any major press conferences or press releses (outside of the "we beefin' up patrols rhetoric") even when the public outcry on crime was at its peak. Mind you, I'm not saying he wasn't a great politician in his heyday, but man lets not beef this thing up to make him look like he did anything major during the past 5 years when we all know he was missing in action most of the time because you gat a guilt complex for how you screwed up our country and cost your party the election all because you, like Dr. Nottage, didn't know when to hang it up.
Go back and read his statement on this again. He said a senior official in tourism's SISTER got the catering contract. He said it only had an appearance of being a conflict of interest because it was her sister but as other bids had been submitted and the Frye organisers accepted her sister's bid he couldn't say as he wasn't sure if she persuaded them to accept it or they just happened to accept it among others. In this case no names were called and in any event, the official's sister has obviously lost money.

Not to mention, he wasn't broke (presumably). While the intentions are pure for a great politician, it's a dangerous precedent to set.
