I agree with you. In the beginning I thought Henfield was on to something and was hand and foot behind him on the first march. I really thought he had a good thing going. By the time he had the second March, he just wasn't making an sense. He seemed all over the place. No focus. Just seemed to be looking for attention or basking in what little he got. By the time he did the third march to the PM's house I just knew something was off and that was confirmed by the numbers that turned up for each march. They seemed to be less and less.
Henfield says one thing, then does another or completely retracts. He strikes me as not being up to the challenge or deathly afraid of or unable to handle criticism even after appearing to take a strong stance. Frankly, I don't think that even Henfield knows his own mind.
An appointment to the Senate may stroke his ego or quiet him down for now, but in my mind he is just not ready for high office. Too unstable.
Let's not start off the si called new generation by putting Fred smith in the senate. That would be a huge misstep. He represents everything that's old and finished about the PLP. If your as@ was voted out take a hint and stay out!
To his credit PGC made Hubert Ingraham look like a saint. As bad as ingraham did us we were begging him to cone back and that in itself speaks volumes. His heart may have been in the right place but his actions never caught up.
I think every person who egged him on to stay by voting for him in the Convention (Miller included if he did) is equally as guilty.
I mean, you knew he was OLD, (literally) sleeping on the job, had no backbone to stand up to his corrupt ministers and giving 'things real good' and 'soon come' speeches and yet you told him, "Man, you the best. We can't find no one else as good or better than you to lead us." So you know what I say? I'm not sorry for ANY of you. You got what you deserved.
Let this be a lesson to the rest. You have to know when your time is up and when to hang it up. Good riddance!
The old heads won't retire into the sunset. They'll just leave frontline politics and stay in the background and get big fat contracts like Darrel Rolle and Neville Wisdom. The PLP always takes care of it's own and it will take radical leadership to change that.
With regard to your other comments regarding McCartney and the DNA, I totally agree. He's arrogant and just wants the glory of being Prime Minister. After this election, he clearly needs to hang it up!
